‧ Who had the biggest impact on your career?
"P.J. Carey was my manager in rookie ball, and also when I was
at (Class AA) Carolina. I was a catcher, but in 1998 the Rockies
signed Jeff Winchester, and he was a high draft choice so he was
going to catch. I was the third catcher. The team didn't have a
first baseman, so P.J. asked me if I could play first base. He
took me out every day and hit me ground balls. He made me work
hard. He's proud of me now."
