Mike Moustakas, 3B 2010 Rank: 32 Drafted: 2007, 1st (2) ETA in Majors: 2011 Statistically speaking: In a season when he hit a combined .322/.369/.630, not much went wrong for Moustakas. He went hitless in more than two consecutive games only three times all year, across two levels. Nearly half -- 49.3 percent, to be exact -- of his hits were of the extra-base variety. He finished in the top three among Minor League hitters in home runs, RBIs, extra-base hits and slugging percentage Scouting report: Moustakas has always had plus power, thanks to excellent bat speed and an ability to make consistent, hard contact. He's got power to all fields and his ability to tap into it improved as his pitch selection got better. While he doesn't walk a ton, he should be able to hit for average while knocking balls out of whatever park he's in consistently. There are those who are unsure of his ability to stay at third because of his range and size, but he's got a plus arm and has worked very hard on his agility and conditioning. Upside potential: A power-hitting, run-producing, middle-of-the-order threat who will hit .300-30-100 annually. They said it: "We don't want to throw a guy up here that's going to struggle. We want him to be able to come up and be able to handle the situation. We'll just see where he's at." -- Royals manager Ned Yost He said it: "They told me to be ready, come into camp ready to fight for a job. That's what I've been doing. The guys that play with the Royals in the big leagues right now are all amazing guys. Last year was my first year in big league camp, and everyone was real generous and real nice to me, took me under their wings and showed me the ropes a little bit. I feel a little more comfortable around those guys now. We'll see how this camp goes." -- on his 2011 opportunity http://0rz.tw/WeLJ4 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.227.214.8
