Royals bench coach John Gibbons and pitching coach Bob McClure will not be in the Kansas City dugout next season. The club and manager Ned Yost announced Thursday that the two will not return for the 2012 season, while the team will retain hitting coach Kevin Seitzer, first base coach Doug Sisson, third base coach Eddie Rodriguez and bullpen coach Steve Foster. Gibbons, who managed the Blue Jays from 2004-08, joined the Royals in October '08. McClure pitched for seven teams in a career that spanned from 1975-93 and came to Kansas City in '06. The Kansas City pitching staff had an ERA of 4.44, which ranked 27th in baseball, ahead of just the Astros, Twins and Orioles. Royals hurlers walked 557 batters this season, the most in the American League. Kansas City finished the season 71-91, 24 games back of first-place Detroit in the AL Central in fourth place. The Royals said in a statement that they intend to hire a new bench coach and pitching coach at a later date. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.174.152.8
