The Great Wall of China / September 27, 2008

中國長城遊

I visited the Great Wall of China today! It was a fun experience. I’d been
wanting to go for some time, and I had hoped to go after the Olympics.

我今天去逛中國長城! 那是非常有趣的經驗。我好久以來都想去，而我本來希望奧
運後可以去的。

Often I leave a tournament without having the chance to do any sightseeing,
so it was a nice bonus to be able to go and see such an important site before
I left.

通常比賽結束我沒什麼機會觀光就離開，所以可以在離開前去看看這麼重要的景點
是很棒的額外好處。

I was very surprised to find out that the wall is 6,500 kilometres long! At
one time there were a million men guarding the wall, and twice that number
died building it. It’s an amazing place.

我非常驚訝這牆有六千五百公里長! 這裡曾經有百萬士兵守衛著萬里長城，這數字
兩倍的的人死於建造過程。這實在是令人驚訝的地方。

Unfortunately we didn’t have time to walk to the summit, and it was also a
little hot, but we saw some great views. I especially enjoyed riding down in
a cable car – it reminded me of being on a rollercoaster!

不幸地，我們沒時間走到最高點，而且有點熱，但是我們看了些壯觀景緻。我特別
喜歡坐纜車從上而下-那讓我回想起在雲霄飛車的感覺!

(貓纜其實也不錯XD)

I will leave Beijing on Sunday to practice in Europe before the indoor
season. It’s been a very interesting trip. I’ve learned a lot about Chinese
culture, and I look forward to coming back next year, when the event is much
bigger, and it takes place at the Olympic site.

我將在禮拜天離開北京，在室內賽季開始前於歐洲練習。這是非常有趣的旅程。我學
了很多中國文化，而我很期待明年再次回來，那時這比賽會更盛大，而且會在奧運場
地進行。

(是說穿漢服認識新...朋友嗎？)

My next tournament is in Moscow. There’s still a lot to play for before the
season ends and I’m looking forwards to getting back on the court.

我的下一個比賽在莫斯科。賽季結束前仍有很多比賽。我期待回到球場上。
