After her victory over Alizé Cornet, a tired but relieved Jelena Jankovic
spoke with the press. The Serbian remains optimist for her next match.
Jelena Jankovic, it was a long and difficult match, how are you feeling?
Well, we stayed on the court for nearly three hours with some long rallies...
But I managed to leave the court a winner and that's counts.
What happened in the first set? You were leading 5-2 before losing 5 games in
a row and giving away the first set.
I don't know. I was very frustrated and angry at myself after losing this
set. I really thought that I would win the first set and I let her come back.
It made me mad. It hurt when I thought that I would have to earn two more
sets to win. Luckily, I was able to set aside my frustration and concentrate
on the game by playing one point after another.

No, not at all. On the contrary, it's a good sign. That means I'm capable of
winning matches even when I'm not in shape. You can't always feel great. You
have to accept playing matches even when you're playing badly.

Was it difficult to play with the crowd rooting for Alizé?
It's never easy to play a local player. Her fans were really backing her up.
But this crowd has quite a sense of fair play. They were applauding my points
along with hers.
