Troicki: We won’t disappoint against Spain

Serbia team have held their first training sessions ahead of the next weekend
’s Davis Cup tie at Spain. The team assembled to take on the competition’s
title holders in the summer resort of Benidorm are Jankovic Tipsarevic,
Viktor Troicki and Nenad Zimonjic, while Serbia’s number one Novak Djokovic
joins his teammates, head coach Bogdan Obradovic and advisor Nikola Pilic on
Monday.

The clay-court indoor stadium Terra Mitica was first tested by Troicki and
Tipsarevic. The former, the recent winner of the Gemax challenger event in
Belgrade and current world’s player 44, says he is ready for a clash against
the reigning Davis Cup champions.

- “I feel good and ready, what I showed by winning the Gemax. I travelled to
Dubai from minus 5 to plus 30 degrees, which affected my performances there
and I just couldn’t function properly which resulted in an early departure. 
Now we have the upcoming tie against Spain. The court is terrific, although
the clay has somewhat bigger grains than that of the French Open. I hope once
the team is complete we show the kind of performances our fans want to see,”
 says Troicki.

Team coach Bogdan Obradovic has a reason to be happy his players’
 achievements of the late. Nenad Zimonjic has won a doubles tournament in
Rotterdam together with Daniel Nestor, after which Troicki won the Belgrade
challenger, which was all eventually crowned with Novak Djokovic’s win in
Dubai. 某人什麼都沒有...

- “We still haven’t decided who besides Novak will play the other singles
rubber; it will be either Viktor or Janko. The chances of either of the two
appearing are fifty-fifty – Troicki’s game is on the rise, while Tipsarevic
is on the right way to restore his previous form. Nikola Pilic and myself
will be tracking their displays in training and come to our decision. We plan
to play Zimonjic and Djokovic in the doubles on Saturday, providing Novak is
not too tired from the previous day’s singles match,” says Obradovic.
The team coach has praised the organizers and the stadium to host the Davis
Cup tie over the forthcoming weekend.

- “The court surface is in great condition, and our players are highly
motivated. The Spaniards have been wonderful hosts – they are meeting all
our needs and the hotel accommodation is excellent,” added Obradovic.
Serbia team players will have four days to fine tune their play and the
tactical approach to the clash against Spain, who are already in Benidorm and
are currently holding one training session a day.
