We’ve hardly survived the day! 40 degrees in the shade, and you don’t want
to know how hot it was on the court! The match was played in the worst
possible time. Doctors usually recommend avoiding being out in the sun
between 11am and 5pm, and we started the warm up right then and continued to
5-6pm till the end of the match. It was hard even to sit there, not to
mention how Nole and Victor felt while playing.
今天好難生存下去!在陰影下仍有40度，你一定不想知道球場上到底有多熱!
比賽開打在最糟糕的時間，醫生通常建議十一點到五點間不要在大太陽底下，
我們剛好在那時開始練球，五、六點時開始比賽到結束。坐在那邊就很難受了，
更不用說正在比賽的Nole跟Viktor。
A balanced match, only a few balls decided, a couple of points. Nole is a
winner today, but it would have been well deserved win if Viktor had
triumphed. Gladiatorial combat of two friends, two countrymen. Americans say
it was one of the hottest days in New York City history. Gotta give credit to
the guys and to all the players who shared the same fate and misfortune to
play in this weather. Nole and Viktor felt well after the match, they
recovered relatively quickly and got back to their daily routine. Novak’s
recovery lasted a little longer, it was extended through the rest of the day
and evening.
一場平分秋色的比賽，決定於幾球關鍵球、關鍵分。Nole是今天的贏家，
但如果是Viktor勝利也無庸置疑，兩個好朋友、同鄉的戰鬥。
美國人說這是紐約有史以來最熱的一天之一，我們必須給不幸在這種大熱天下還要比賽的
球員讚揚。Nole和Viktor在賽後都感覺良好，他們短暫的休息後，又繼續每天的例行事務
Novak恢復的時間比較長一點，一直休息了一整天。
We will do a part of recovery on Wednesday, the forecast says it will be even
warmer day than today. We’ve been wondering if it could be any worse and, if
it will really be like that, what the officials’, the tournament organisers’
reaction would be, in terms of regularity of playing matches under severe
conditions. We’ll see what happens tomorrow. After a short game of
billiards, we go to rest...
我們會在週三休養，氣象預報說明天會比今天更熱。
我們在想會不會有更糟糕的情形發生，那賽會官方會如何處理在這種嚴酷狀態下比賽，
我們明天會看看狀況。在小玩撞球後，我們就要休息了...
