Lazio goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi was the second Lazio player to take legal
actions against the club in order to receive his salary. The goalie explains
why but do also speak about this season and that he has no intention of
leaving.
Peruzzi: "I took legal actions because the president told us for 4-5 months
that the money would arrive but they never did. If he had promised us that
the money would arrive at the end of the season I don't think anyone would
have taken legal actions but we had enough of hearing promises that weren't
maintained. It's not a matter of money. However, none of us wants to leave
the team and we all hope that no one will be sold in January. We want to stay
together for the whole season."
Peruzzi on Cragnotti: "Although the matter of the wages I am very sorry that
he will leave. He is a great man and has always been available to the team.
He has done everything he could do and has made Lazio to a winning club. From
the fans there can't be anything but appreciation towards him."
Peruzzi on the season so far: "I am a bit surprised by the results so far.
We all realized during the pre-season that we had a good team and maybe from
the friendly games in England we have all believed more in ourselves. But
we don't think about the league title. When we talk in the dressing room we
say that we are up there to try to create as much problems as possible for
the others. But when we started the season our goal was to reach an UEFA Cup
spot, now we are on a Champions League spot and we hope to remain there."
