Lazio were flying high from their 2-1 victory at Juventus last week, but
cannot seem to replicate their away form at the Stadio Olimpico.
Bologna who had the first real chance on 15 minutes. Leonardo Colucci's low
header by the back post caught Massimo Oddo by surprise, but goalkeeper Angelo
Peruzzi performed an extraordinary reaction save on the line.
The Biancocelesti fought back as Diego Simeone fired over the bar and an
inspired Stefano Fiore dribbled past Gianluca Pagliuca, but his angled drive
was cleared off the line by Paolo Vanoli.
The deadlock was eventually broken in first half stoppage time. Dejan
Stankovic threaded through allowing Claudio Lopez to spring the offside trap
and the Argentine slid his low drive past the helpless Pagliuca.
Once again Lazio had organised an entertaining celebration. After doing the
'Las Ketchup' dance, the players sat on the floor and mimed a rowing race.
Bologna drew level on the hour mark with a splendid Christian Zaccardo strike.
A corner kick was cleared and the defender drilled a fierce effort in from 20
metres.
Tension rose and the referee decided not to take action when Stankovic and
Julio Cruz clashed, exchanging blows in the box.
Carlo Nervo saw red in the final minutes for a second bookable offence.

Some things lighten nightfall
and make a Rembrandt of a grief.
But mostly the swiftness of time
is a joke; on us. The flame-moth
is unable to laugh. What luck.
The myths are dead.
