Mihajlovic to march on Milan

Sinisa Mihajlovic is ready to make his return to the Lazio squad in a
showdown with the Rossoneri.
The Serb has been out of action since before Christmas with a thigh strain
and could be thrown in from the start at the San Siro.
“I am finally healthy again and ready for action,” commented the defender.
“I can’t make too much of a difference and the team did well without me.”
The central defender proved decisive in the early months of the campaign
from set-pieces and long balls forward to hitman Bernardo Corradi. Some
fans pinpointed his injury as the moment Lazio began to slide.
“It is only normal that over the course of a season the performances
fluctuate. We lost important points against Reggina and Torino, which is
why we must go to Milan looking for a win.”
“Bad luck has added to our problems as we keep hitting the woodwork when
it looks like a goal, but I am sure we’ll see a full-strength Lazio on
Sunday evening.”
Mihajlovic may also have to rush his return to fill in for the suspended
Fernando Couto in central defence.
It will be an emotional occasion for one man on the field – former Lazio
captain Alessandro Nesta.
“I am very happy to be meeting him again,” noted Mihajlovic. “In my
opinion he is a great player and an even better man.”
The ex-Sampdoria star’s own future remains in doubt due the financial
uncertainty at the club.
“I intend to keep playing until the age of 40,” he joked, “so there
shouldn’t be a problem there. In seriousness, I am happy at Lazio and
willing to meet the club halfway with regards to contract negotiations.”
