UEFA has announced that the UEFA Cup fourth round second-leg fixture between
Wisla Krakow and S.S. Lazio has been postponed as the Polish club's pitch
was deemed unplayable following an inspection.
Reserve date
The match was perhaps the most eagerly anticipated of tonight's eight games
following a thrilling 3-3 first-leg draw in Rome last week. However, it will
now be played on a reserve date of 4 or 5 March unless both teams agree to
play the game tomorrow. A decision is expected later today.
Freezing temperatures
The pitch had been covered by snow and ice for much of the week prior to an
effort to clear it yesterday. The surface was subsequently deemed playable
but conditions deteriorated following Lazio's training session and the
freezing temperatures which gripped the city last night.
