I enjoy go out for brunch over weekend, as often as possible. And Macrina
Bakery has been the best so far. The whole store is basically european style
and I'll directly talk about a few dishes here.
Salt Stuff
**Smoked Salmon Scramble**
The scramble egg is always fluffy and creamy, the smoked salmon+ cream fraiche
is probably non-resistable for normal human being. If you like warm and salty
food for the morning, it's probably your best choice. Also, the amount is
pretty generous, so don't eat ANYTHING before you get there.
**Macrina Fried Egg Sandwish**
I think it's definately not that impressive in comparason with the salmon
scramble. But for a Sandwich lover, I'll say it's a pretty good choice too!
Sweet Stuff
**Brioche French Toast**
If you like creamy stuff (just like me), I have to say it's the choice!
Forget about how much butter or whatever are in this dish.. Just for the
french toast part, the texture of the toast is really "unforgettable".
Because as a bakery shop, they basically make their bread out of oven fresh
everyday! (if you go there, you can actually see their kitchen!) I almost
forget that it also come with apple-pork sausage, which can give your taste a
great punch if you think it's too much sweet stuff :)
**Old Fashioned Waffle**
Ok, so here is another great sweet dish!! Do you like fresh berries? fruit?
This is definately a very refreshing start if you need something with very
nature taste. As well, it comes with apple-smoked bacon.
Okay, if you really read thru the whole thing, which suggest you might be
tempted to try this weekend. Here are some cautions... go there early, they
don't take reservations. You might need to wait a bit, but it's definately
worth it. The coffee is sometimes cold, so I always ask for extra-hot. Oh,
and the last, it's a no-cell-phone-ringing store, respect their policy, turn
it off before you walk in :)
