kabelvaag: How was it to play with Dr. J? Was the 1983 championship
taste as sweet as it looked?
kabelvaag: 跟J博士打球的感覺如何？1983年總冠軍到手的滋味，跟你想像中
的一樣美好嗎？
Maurice Cheeks: Ha-ha. Yeah, it was as sweet as it looked. We felt we
could've one a few times prior to that, so that moment really was a
culmination of a lot of hard work. That was a very satisfying
victory. To come back and beat Boston was a great moment too. But to
play with Dr. J was a great honor for me, as he was one of the
biggest stars to ever play. To be around him, playing with him was
major for me. No matter what I've accomplished, people still come up
to me and say, "Hey, you played with Dr. J," that's sometimes what
I'm known for.
Mo: 哈-哈。是啊，跟我想像中的一樣好。在那之前有幾個球季我們都覺得總
冠軍應該拿得到但沒有，所以那一刻真的是所有努力的結晶，那是一次令人非

JM (Manila): Hey Maurice, I loved the old Sixers teams from the 80's
and you are one of my favorite players on those teams. Just
wondering, what was it like to have played with a young Charles
Barkley?
JM (馬尼拉): 嘿，Maurice，我很愛八零年代的老七六人，你是那個時期我最
喜歡的球員之一。只是在想，跟年輕的Charles Barkley打球感覺怎麼樣？
Maurice Cheeks: Ha-ha. Another guy. The very young Charles Barkely
was energetic, vibrant, very talkative, just like he is now. One
thing though, he was entertaining and fun, but very, very talented
and most importantly a very, very hard worker. He always came to
play. That other stuff was fun, but the main thing with Charles was
he came to play hard every night.
Mo: 哈-哈。又一個。

勁、很有活力、話也很多，跟他現在沒什麼兩樣。但有一點要提一下：他那時
候人很好玩有趣、但也非常非常有天分，而且最重要的，非常非常努力；隨時
都有上場的準備。那些有的沒的事很有意思，但最主要是每晚他都抱持全力打
球的心態。
Sydney (australia): Congratulations coach Cheeks, I heard Philly is a
hard city for coaches and players alike, that being said Andre
Iguodala had a very solid rookie season, what are you hoping to see
from him this season?
雪梨（澳洲）: Cheeks教練，恭喜。我聽說費城對教練和球員來說都是一個很
難搞的城市，不過，Andre Iguodala的菜鳥球季實在很出色，你希望在新球季
看到他什麼樣的表現？
Maurice Cheeks: I'm hoping he learns a bit from his first year and
can come out his second year even better. He's a very good rebounder,
he's a good shooter, a very good passer off the dribble. We think he
can move up a little bit in every statistical area with his second
season in the league now.
Mo: 我希望他從第一年當中學到一點東西，然後第二年做的更好。他籃板抓得
很好、也有外線、切入分球也很不錯。我們認為第二個球季裡他可以在每一項
統計數據上都再進步一點。
Mike (Philly): Mo--What are your initial thoughts on Korver? He's
gotta be even better than you expected, right?
Mike（費城）: Mo--你對Korver的初步看法是？他一定比想像中更好吧，嗯？
Maurice Cheeks: He's one of the best shooters I've ever seen, he
takes some amazing shots, and hits them on a regular basis. He is
also better putting the ball on the floor than some people think. He
can do that too, and we need to see more of that in games. He is a
great shooter, with terrific accuracy and distance.
Mo: 他是我看過最好的射手之一。他會在意想不到的時候出手，而且常常投進
。他運球切入的功夫也比很多人想的要好，他其實做得到，我們也需要他在比

Andrew (Melbourne, Aus): Yo Maurice, congrats on the new appointment.
How have you found the transition from player to coach, considering
how different the 76ers have become since you finished there?
Andrew（澳洲墨爾本）: Yo Maurice，恭喜你得到這份工作。從你離開七六人
到現在球隊變了這麼多，這個球員到教練的轉變過程你的感覺怎麼樣？
Maurice Cheeks: I found it quite easy. I'd rather play than coach any
day, but my body doesn't allow that. The game is in my blood and
coaching is the closest you can come to playing. If you can't play
anymore, that competitive spirit can be challenged in coaching and
that's why I'm here. I want to help those players out on the court
reach their full potential and win games.
Mo: 我覺得蠻容易的。當然我能打球絕對不會去當教練，但我的身體不給我這
個選擇。
籃球在我的血管裡流動，當教練已經是最接近出場打球的形式了。如
果你沒辦法打球，那種競爭的心還是可以在教練的層次上迎接挑戰，因此我來
到費城。我想要幫助這些在場上的球員發揮潛力並且拿到勝利。
New York: Maurice, do you think that "Philly" can get into the
Playoffs with this young roster?
紐約: Maurice，你想費城可以靠這些年輕球員打進季後賽嗎？
Maurice Cheeks: Yeah, I do. We have young energetic players, but we
also have Allen Iverson and Chris Webber who know how to win and
lead, and I think we can not only make the playoffs, but go even
farther than that.
Mo: 我是這麼想沒錯。我們有年輕有活力的球員，但也有Allen Iverson和Chris
Webber，他們知道怎麼樣贏球、怎麼樣領導，而且我想我們還不只可以打進季
後賽，還可以走得更遠。

forward to having a great season here in Philly, and I appreciate the
