Tuesdays Top Ten Reasons To Fire Billy King

I know what you might be thinking. Billy King is a good guy and he
has been handicapped with the rules of the CBA and the mess Larry
Brown left behind. He has been very unlucky with injuries and a lack
of viable free agent options. He’s been stuck in poor draft
positions, and he’s resisted the urge to trade Iverson. These are
all true, and I do not judge the man for the hand he was dealt. My
judgments are based on how he played that hand. For that reason, here
is today’s Top Ten List: Reasons To Fire Billy King.

我知道你們可能會這麼想：老王是個好人，他被集體談判協定的條款和布朗爺
所留下的爛攤子弄得綁手綁腳。球員頻繁的受傷、自由球員的選擇不多，是他
的運氣不好。尷尬的選秀順位讓他無法發揮，而且他最後還是把小艾留下來了
。這些都是事實，而我也不會因為他手上牌不好就批評他。他怎麼打這手牌，
才是我的論點所在。因此，現在就來看看今天的十大榜單：十個讓我們說：「
下台吧，老王！」的原因。


10. Allowing Brian Skinner to sign with Milwaukee for the league
minimum, and then resigning him one year later for 5 years and 20
million (only to be dealt later during the season with 2 teammates
for Webber).

9. Signing Kenny Thomas for 50 million.

7. Trading Van Horn for Glenn “Big Dog” Robinson and Marc Jackson,
then hiring a coach who would not play Robinson (Jim O’Brien) and
trading Jackson to the Nets for NOTHING.

6. Drafting Louis Williams when Ryan Gomes & Lawrence Roberts were on
the board and the team was thin at forward and stacked at guard.
Williams will never realize his potential here.

況球隊的鋒線正缺人、後衛又爆滿。Williams的潛力在此將永遠無法發揮。


5. Firing Randy Ayers midway through the 2003-2004 season, even
though his key players were often injured and he never had a full
lineup to work with. He’s at least as good a coach as Maurice Cheeks.

五、2003-04球季中，沒有考量到球員受傷太頻繁，預期的先發陣容一直湊不齊，
就火了Randy Ayers。他的教練功力至少和Mo Cheeks平起平坐。


4. Signing Korver to a 6 year contract.

3. Firing Jim O’Brien after he went 17-10 for the rest of the season
after acquiring Webber (his only coach with a winning record in his 3
years as the Sixers president).

是被火了（這是他就任七六人總裁三年以來第一個勝率破五成的教練）。


2. Choices made for backup centers (often involving the “starting”
 center) - see the Skinner signing, Jackson trade, and Dalembert
signing for 10+ million a year to back up another signing - Steven
Hunter.

二、對於替補中鋒的處理（通常會牽涉到「先發」中鋒）--例如Skinner的簽約、
Jackson的交易，另外就是小戴以每年破千萬的薪水成為板凳中鋒--Steven Hunter

1. Hiring 4 coaches in 3 years, last one being Mo Cheeks, and still
no improvement.

P.S.
Another compelling reason to dump King is the drop in fan attendence.
In Philadelphia, this is a sign that the fans aren’t coming back
until the GM is gone. Just ask Phillies fans about Ed Wade and you’
ll get the idea. I’m not sure how to rank that as a reason, per se,
but it’s just another thing to keep an eye on.

還有一個老王必須滾蛋的理由是球迷入場率大大降低。在費城，這表示除非GM換人
，球迷是不會回來的。只要問費城人隊的球迷對Ed Wade的看法，你就會瞭解。我不
