A Few Minutes With: Louis Williams

Louis Williams won the 2005 Naismith Award for being the top high-school player
in the nation last season. He was selected by the Sixers with the 45th pick in
the draft, the first high-schooler to be picked by Philadelphia since Darryl
Dawkins 30 years earlier. Williams has yet to see much playing time with the
Sixers, but he is patient and knows that there is much for him to learn.

Rookie Report: How has the first month and a half of the season been for you?
Q：經過這第一個月和一部份球季，你覺得如何？
Louis Williams: Personally, it's been great. I'm just trying to learn and soak
up everything I can from these guys, especially having, A.I., Kevin Ollie and
coach Cheeks. It's been great for me. I've been allowed the opportunity to be a
sponge and soak up information. The only tough part about it is that we've been
losing a little bit.

LW: He wants me to really pay attention to the guys that are playing in front
of me, how to run a basketball team at the point guard position. He realizes
that I was a two-guard in high school and that it's a transition over to the
point. Day by day, I'm just trying to learn how to run this basketball team and
get guys shots in the right spots whenever I'm in the game.

RR: Has there been any talk about going down to the D-League at all?

LW: Right now, that's not an option for me. Neither the coaching staff or the
people upstairs have mentioned that, but you never know at this level.

RR: Do you get a lot out of practice?
Q：你有很多練習的機會嗎？
LW: Absolutely. With a guy like Allen who's playing 40 minutes a night, he's
not going to practice everyday, so that gives me a first-hand opportunity to
battle with these guys and run the basketball team. They realize that Allen's
not going to always be available in practice, so for me that's a great
opportunity to showcase what I can do.
