The Sixers will enter the upcoming season without last year's
leading scorer, Lou Williams, who joined the Atlanta Hawks in
free agency this summer.
Williams averaged 14.9 points, while playing 26.3 minutes per
night coming off the bench. He averaged a team-high 4.6 free
throw attempts per game. Williams was the runner-up in the
sixth man of the year voting.
七六人在這個球季將會想念他們回家打拼的得分王小鹿。
他去年平均每場比賽上場26.3分鐘就能貢獻14.9分；在爭取上罰球線
的能力上他也是全隊最強悍的(4.6/gm)。更不要提他去年在最佳第六
人的票選當中僅僅輸給了Al-Harden.
His departure would seem huge if not for the signing of Nick
Young. Young is entering his sixth NBA season. He was a member
of the Wizards from the start of his career in 2006 until he
was traded to the Clippers with 22 games to go last year. The
Sixers signed him in mid-July.
Young is a guy who, like Williams, can score but he does it in
a catch-and-shoot fashion, not creating off the dribble.
失去Lou的空缺是如此的巨大，以至於我們必須找Nick Young來填補。

Young's best statistical season came two years ago, when he
averaged more than 17 points in 32 minutes per night. He shot
44 percent from the floor and 39 percent from three-point
range.

砍下17分，命中率達44%，三分命中率達39%。
In addition to being instant offense off the bench, Williams
was the backup point guard for Doug Collins. Young cannot
serve in that role, so expect him to play his minutes
alongside Jrue Holiday and Evan Turner.
但是除了得分之外，Lou還能作到一些Nick Young不能作到的：小鹿
是Doug Collins認證的優秀替補控球；而Nick Young非旦不能控球，
他還需要優秀的持球者替他餵球，因此可以預期他上場的時候都必須
要有Jrue跟Turner相伴左右，才能發揮他的功能。
The Holiday/Turner tandem will be the playmaking duo this
season. It will be rare to see both on the bench at the same
time, Collins said earlier this week at the Coaches vs. Cancer
golf outing.
所以因為Nick Young在此項功能上的缺乏，而Royal Ivey又只能當一
個事實上第三甕球的情況下，球隊主力的控球時間將由Jrue跟小壞蛋
兩人分攤。Collins在接受訪問的時候也有提到如果沒有特殊狀況他
不會考慮讓Jrue Holiday跟Evan Turner兩個人同時下場休息。
"I have put a lot of thought into it and me and my coaches are
ready to put our plans into action," Collins said. "With
losing Lou, we are going to have to have a guy who can handle
the ball with that second unit. I mean we did sign Royal Ivey
but depending who comes off the bench it could be based on
matchups. I could sub for Jrue early in the game with another
perimeter guy and let Evan play out the quarter and then come
back with Jrue as the point guard with our second unit and let
Evan rest. I think what you will see is Jrue and Evan playing
point guard with the second unit based on night to night."
Doug Collins:
我之前花了很多精力去拼湊有關下個球季的輪替計畫上，而整個教練
團已經準備好要將此計畫付諸實行。當我們失去Lou的時候，理所當然
必須找到另外一個人接手他帶領替補陣容的控場時間。我們的確已經
簽下了Ivey，但是讓什麼人領導板凳球員則要看我們所對上的對手與
他們的輪替狀況。也許基於現在的人手，我會考慮讓Jrue即便是身為
理所當然的先發控球，但是我會考慮讓他提早下場休息，讓Evan接手
剩下的第一節時間，然後讓Jrue Holiday上場帶領第二陣容，並且讓
Evan Turner在此時下去休息。總之讓誰上場領導第二陣容就要看當天
晚上對上的對手作決定，這個選擇是開放的。
Just as Collins has a plan for the point guard position, he
also has that for the small forward spot. Turner will be in
the starting lineup as the small forward, but there will be
defensive assignments that require Collins to call Thaddeus
Young's name early to play that position coming off the bench.
而就像是在一號位發生的情形一般，Doug在三號位置也有類似的調整
必須進行。Turner看起來會成為先發小前鋒，但是在防守端失去Iggy
的空缺將有可能讓Doug Collins必須在比賽中提早啟用Thad上場。
"This year, in exhibition, I am going to have some quarters
where I look at Thad as a three-man defensively," Collins
said. "Can he do some of the things where [Andre Iguodala]
helped us last year."
Doug:
在熱身賽我會給足很多節的時間去讓Thad試試看他在三號位置的防守
方面能作到什麼程度，能否在一定程度上彌補Iguodala去年所幫助球
隊作到的防守強度與時間。
Iguodala guarded the opposition's best scorer nightly: Kobe
Bryant, Paul Pierce, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, LeBron
James. Who on this roster can do that? It’s a daunting task
to figure it out.
Iguodala幾乎每天晚上都像是例行公事一般要守對手最好的得分悍將
們，如Kobe/Pierce/Melo/Durant/LeBron等等。要在現在的陣容當中
找到能夠接手他工作的人，一不小心就會陷入飲鴆止渴的窠巢，最後
落的一事無成。
The Sixers hung their hat on defense last year, allowing 89.4
points on average, the third-fewest in the NBA behind Chicago
and Boston. They also had the third-lowest opponent's field
goal percentage at 42.7.
去年七六人的防守表現非常的出色，他們在每場平均失分上只輸給了
芝加哥與波士頓(89.4/gm)。他們在對手命中率的排行榜上也繳出同樣
是第三的好成績(42.7%)。
Iguodala was a huge part of the Sixers’ defensive success.
The Sixers needed more offense, which they went and got this
offseason, but be prepared to see a defense that struggles.
去年在防守端的成功，無疑AI9當居首功。七六人去年的短缺很明顯是
出自於進攻端，這也是他們在這個暑假致力於解決的部份。但是在解
決進攻端短缺的同時，他們同樣必須有心理準備看到他們在防守端的
優勢會有一定程度的犧牲。
Remember the name Justin Holiday, Jrue's older brother.
Holiday played on the Sixers summer league team and played
well. He is 6-7 and, like his younger brother, can defend.
不過還是請記得一個名字：Justin Holiday，Jrue的哥哥。Justin在
今年七六人的夏季聯賽代表隊有著非常出色的表現。他有著六呎七吋
的身高(按:還有著七呎的翼展，不過身高脫鞋是6'5.25")，而且就像
他的弟弟一樣，在防守端有著出色的技術與能力。
註: Justin Holiday比Jrue大一歲，是Hawes在華盛頓大學的學弟。他
的防守很不錯，這是經過球探認可的，但是在UW Huskies待了四
年之後沒有被選上，去比利時打了一年聯賽後，才在今年獲得了
七六人的夏季聯盟邀請(親友保障名額*誤*)，並且有著很不錯的
表現，但是缺點明顯，他只有三分跟cutting能力，其他進攻與持
球能力都可以直接被忽略不計；但是若是著眼於防守，他的確是
現在這套陣容缺少三號位置縱深的好選擇。七六人目前還沒有公
佈他們會對哪些球員發出季前訓練營邀請。
The Sixers roster is 13 deep. They will invite another five or
six players to training camp, which begins Oct. 1 and Holiday
may be on that list. If insurance at the small forward spot
defensively is on the line, a double Holiday could arise.
七六人目前的球員名單上有十三個球員，他們將可能邀請其他的五六
個球員參加他們十月一號才正式開始的訓練營(按:但是大部分的正選
球員都已經抵達費城並展開訓練了)。如果七六人的教練團希望為他
們在三號位置的深度，尤其是防守強度上買個保險，那你將很有可能
看到Holiday兄弟繼他們高中時期結束後再度聯袂出擊。

反而比較多Roster因應Lou Williams以及AI9的離開所做的調整。
另外比較有趣的是：究竟Holiday哥會不會被Doug零秒出手成為正選呢？
