Feet placed just wide of shoulder width. Toes aligned with
flawless precision. Right elbow bent at a 90-degree angle;
right hand behind the ball, left hand neatly to its side. A
quick snap of the wrist and a smooth follow through. Watching
new Sixer forward Dorell Wright’s elegant three-point stroke,
one would find it hard to believe that the 6-9 forward once
played his offensive game almost exclusively inside the arc.

不對啦，上述的一切其實都可以拿來形容D-Wright，因為他的投籃動作
十分標準且穩定，你甚至很難相信這是一個六呎九吋高的高個子所能擁
有的漂亮手感，加上他的射程，更是令人難以置信。
Drafted straight out of high school by the Miami Heat in 2004,
the Los Angeles native spent his first two seasons in Miami in
a red shirt role, taking notes from veterans Antoine Walker
and James Posey.
2004年大家都認為油頭發了神經，從來不選高中畢業生的他突然就把他
從洛杉磯帶到了邁阿密，並從在兩位搖擺人線上的沙場老兵Antoine
Walker跟James Posey旁邊學習當作是他職業生涯的起點。
After logging just 159 minutes in his first two seasons, Wright
’s playing time ballooned to 2,396 minutes over the next two.
Unfortunately, a knee injury ended his 2007-08 campaign
prematurely and all but wiped out his 2008-09 season. When
Wright returned to action in 2009, his Miami Heat were under
the direction of a new head coach – Erik Spoelstra.

Under Spoelstra, Wright became more involved in the Heat
offense; from beyond the arc, in particular. In his first five
NBA seasons, he attempted a mere 55 three-pointers. To put
that in perspective, former-Sixer Kyle Korver attempted 1,806
threes in his first five seasons. Spoelstra saw potential in
Wright, though, and gave the young forward license to fire
from long range. The 6-9 forward took 157 in 2009-10,
converting at an impressive 38.9% rate.

improved three-point shooting during media availability
Tuesday afternoon. “(During my first five seasons) in Miami,
I was a rebounder and a defender. I fit into (former Heat head
coach Pat Riley’s) system and that’s why I was on the court."

But it was how well he fit into Spoelstra’s offense that
opened eyes around the league. In the summer of 2010, the
Golden State Warriors signed Wright to a multi-year deal and
named him their starting small forward.

角色變換成功讓他擄獲了聯盟普遍的注目。在2010年的自由市場中，勇

That season, the Leuzinger High School-alum made a name for
himself, logging the fourth-most minutes in the entire league
under head coach Keith Smart; he was on the floor for all but
9.6 minutes a night and scored a career-high 16.4 per game. He
also led the league in threes made that season (at a 37.6%
clip), finishing third in Most Improved Player voting behind
Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge. The following season,
though, the Warriors hired a new head coach - – Mark Jackson.
Under Jackson, Wright saw many of his minutes go to defensive
specialist Brandon Rush.

Wright said. “(Last season), I had to adjust my game.
“Me being a pro, I realized I had to do something else,
whether it was defending somebody, getting rebounds, knocking
down open shots... every night was different. Different coach,
different system, different players. But when those things
happen, you just have to adjust your game (so you can) be out
there on the court.”

Despite the lack of consistent minutes under Jackson, Wright
still continued his torrid three-point pace, knocking down
threes at the sixth-highest pace of any player that logged at
least 1,650 minutes.
在Marc Jackson下上場時間起伏不定的狀況下，Wright仍然保持了他在
遠距離出手上的穩定性：在上個球季上場時間超過1650分鐘的球員當中，

With entrentched minute-getters at the 2, 3, and 4 positions –
second-year guard Klay Thompson, forward Brandon Rush, and
power forward David Lee – the Warriors knew they would not be
able to give Wright the minutes he deserved this upcoming
season. On July 11, the Sixers acquired the 6-9 forward in a
three-way deal with the Warriors, who received reserve guard
Jarrett Jack, and Hornets, who were able to shed Jack's
contract for salary cap relief.

“As far as whether I’ll start or come off the bench, I don’
t know yet, but I’m with whatever coach wants,” he said. “I

what it’s all about.”

無論下個球季我的角色是先發還是替補，我都很清楚教練希望我作些什
麼，我清楚瞭解自己的定位，並且需要我復出絕對的努力，並在場上貢
獻我所能貢獻的全部。我只想著要幫助球隊贏球，而在這個大前提之下，
無論必須做出什麼調整，或者需要接下什麼任務，我都樂於身先士卒。
