Spencer Hawes will remain a Sixer.

The 24-year-old center on Wednesday reached a two-year
agreement with the Sixers, CSNPhilly.com's Dei Lynam has
confirmed. The deal was first reported by Yahoo! Sports'
Adrian Wojnarowski, who reported that the contract is worth
$13 million-plus.

Hawes earned $4 million last season, his fifth in the NBA, and
was an unrestricted free agent.

A 7-foot-1 Seattle native, Hawes played just 37 games last
season as he battled back and Achilles injuries. He averaged
9.6 points and 7.3 rebounds in about 25 minutes per game.

Free-agent center Spencer Hawes has agreed to a two -year,
$13.1 million contract extension with the Philadelphia 76ers,
Hawes' agent, Greg Lawrence, told Yahoo! Sports.

Hawes, 24, helped the Sixers reached the Eastern Conference
semifinals. Before an Achilles injury sidelined him midway
through the season, Hawes was averaging 12 points and 12
rebounds to help fuel the Sixers' early season surge in the
Atlantic Division. His resigning was one of the top offseason
priorities of general manager Rod Thorn and coach Doug Collins.

The Milwaukee Bucks made a strong bid for Hawes, but he
decided to return to the 76ers. The Miami Heat, Minnesota
Timberwolves and Portland Trail Blazers also showed interest.

Hawes averaged 9.6 points and career bests of 7.3 rebounds and
2.7 assists. He was the 10th overall pick to the Sacramento
Kings in 2007, and came to the Sixers as part of a trade in
2010.
