However the Indiana/Philly team had something to say about that improving their record to 2-1 with a 81-70 win. Jumping out to an early lead was the Indiana/Philly team with a 12-2 run while holding the Spurs for just under four minutes without a bucket. San Antonio battling back ended the quarter just five points down 20-15. Doug Overton led the Spurs with four points at the quarter and Kyle Korver led the combo team with five. Shooting just 33 percent in the first quarter was the Spurs while Indiana/Philly shot 53 percent. In the second it was more of the same from the Indiana/Philly team attacking and leading early by as many as 11. By the end of the quarter they had extended that lead to 16 behind the play of John Salmons with four points in the quarter and eight at the half. San Antonio’s trouble continued in the second quarter shooting just 27 percent from the floor at the half, while Indiana/Philly shot 53% at the half. Going into the half San Antonio trailed 40-24. It was again John Salmons who led the Indy/Philly team going three for three from the floor with eight points in the quarter. Terence Morris led San Antonio with six points in the quarter as both teams scored 19 in the third. At the end of third quarter it was Indiana/Philly holding a 59-43 lead. In the fourth quarter San Antonio made a bid to comeback cutting the Indiana/Philadelphia lead to 10 with four minutes to go, but the combination team would not be denied the 81-70 victory. Leading the way was John Salmons with 25 for the Indiana/Philly team while Eddie Gill scored 23 for the Spurs. Indiana/Philadelphia will take on the Dallas Mavericks Thursday at 4:00pm. San Antonio will take Thursday off and be back in action on Friday against the Phoenix Suns at 8:00pm.
