Sixers Head Coach Randy Ayers
On his team’s performance
Kyle] Korver,[Willie] Green,[John] Salmo
On Samuel Dalembert
On playing San Antonio
[Aaron] Mckie,
On Allen Iverson and Marc Jackson’s play in the game
Marc Jacks
Sixers Guard Allen Iverson
On tonight’s game
On his assists tonight
On his play in the fourth quarter
Sixers Forward Marc Jackson
On whether he looks forward to extended playing time
On how gratifying tonight’s win was
Sixers Guard Aaron McKie
On the Sixers approach heading into the game
On whether the Sixers change the way they play when they have a shortage of
players
Sixers Guard John Salmons
On whether the Spurs thought it would be easier to win against a shorthande
-dteam
On teammate Allen Iverson coming through in the clutch
"It's amazing。
Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich
On tonight’s game
“They made fewer mistakes than we did. I thought they ran the floor really
well and I don’t think our transition was very good. I thought that Allen
(Iverson) and Aaron (Mckie)and Eric (Snow) did a good job of pushing it bac
-k at us in a lot of situations and that got them over the hump.
“We played hard. I just don’t think we played real well defensively. We m
-ade a lot of errors defensively and we didn’t get back, but they played h
-ard.”
On Allen Iverson
“He’s a great player. He’s been an MVP in our league (and) if you’re go
-ing to be an MVP in this league, you’re a pretty good player. You’re not
going to stop Allen Iverson, but I thought defensively we did a lot things
that allowed penetration.”
Spurs Guard Manu Ginobili
On Allen Iverson
“Obviously he got inspired late in the second half. When he gets like that
he’s really hard to guard. I think we made a lot of mistakes in other part
-s of the game. When know that Iverson can do that. We (just) have to be re
-ady for it.”
On the Spurs shooting
“Shooting you can practice, but it’s a lot mentally. If you think I misse
-d six or 10 in a row or whatever it’s going to be worse. We don’t have t
-o care about missed shots, as long as we take good ones. We began forcing
and taking bad shots. That’s another thing. As long as we play smart, do w
-hat we have to do on the defensive end the game would have been ours.”
Spurs Forward Tim Duncan
On tonight’s game
They played a heck of a game. They made a lot less mistakes than we did. We
turned the ball over (and) we missed some wide-open shots. Defensively, we
let them break us down and Allen was a big part of that. Allen was a big pa
-rt of getting into he middle of our defense and really making us pay for i
-t. All in all they made less mistakes than we did.”
