Derrick Coleman and the Philadelphia 76ers capped a trying road trip with an un
-likely victory.
Coleman collected 20 points and 11 rebounds and outplayed Tim Duncan as the Six
-ers won in San Antonio for the first time in 18 years, posting an 83-77 victor
-y over the Spurs, who had a 13-game winning streak snapped.
Eric Snow added 20 points and Glenn Robinson 16 for Philadelphia, which last wo
-n here with a 108-102 triumph on January 6, 1986 at HemisFair Arena, when its
lineup featured Julius Erving, Moses Malone and Maurice Cheeks.
"Really?" Coleman said when informed of ending the team's skid in San Antonio.
"Well, Happy New Year."

Without Allen Iverson, who has a right knee contusion, the Sixers had lost the
first four contests of their five-game road trip and eight of 10. But they hara
-ssed Duncan all game long, limiting the two-time league MVP to 11 points on 4-
of-12 shooting from the field and 3-of-13 from the line.
"We knew that Tim was going to get his touches, a guy like that you can't just
stop," Coleman said. "The main thing was that we wanted to put him into tough
situations, take tough shots and make sure we contested it when he did."

Duncan had 12 rebounds for his league-leading 27th double-double, but the Spurs
grabbed just 34, three fewer than their previous season low.
"Philly did a great job today," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "All their hor
-ses weren't there and they are on the last game of a road trip. They've been o
-ut for what must seem like two months. (But) they outcompeted us. They were mo
-re physical and more aggressive in every way on the court. They took the win a
-nd they deserved the win."
The game was tied, 67-67, before Robinson nailed a pair of free throws with 6:
21 left to start a 10-0 run. Snow capped the burst with a jumper with 3:44 left
and San Antonio got no closer than five points thereafter.
The Spurs had not played since Sunday, when they beat Milwaukee, 89-74.
"We're coming off a tough five-game road trip and they're coming off a five-day
layover, so the timing worked out for us," Ayers said.
"You can argue until the cows come home that we rested too much or we practiced
too much," Popovich said. "You can say, 'Poor us, we had all the momentum, then
we had five days off.' That's baloney. The last thing I want any of these guys
to do is use that as an excuse."
Spurs guard Manu Ginobili scored five points in seven minutes before suffering
a back sprain. He did not return.

"He'll have an MRI tomorrow and we'll see what's going on," Popovich said. "It

用了八人輪替, 先發五人平均都要打三節36分鐘, 不過缺乏活動力的三名鋒線以四成七的
高命中率拿下48分, 抓下31個籃板, 其中老DC和KT帶走 Double-double 的成績. 這場比賽是
兩隊都很習慣打的低比分比賽, 從助攻數 12:17 可見一斑, 就算你球傳到位, 投不進去也
是無可奈何. 不過贏了就好, 終止再馬刺主場對他們的十八連敗, 也喊停了馬刺最近的十
三連勝, 也在這五場西征客場之旅畫下一個讓人還能接受的 ending , 畢竟今年球季擊敗
過馬刺的東區球隊就只有我們而已(對冠軍隊清盤心中真是暢快阿 :P), 也讓下一場 Ivers
-on 的復出作了一個好的開路, 先在家裡三場主場拉出一波四連勝唄 :D
少掉了 Iverson & Mckie , 對我們的戰力有莫大的影響是眾所皆知的, 一下子七六人成了
每支球隊垂涎的肥肉, 快艇. 太陽. 爵士. 火箭, 這四支剛好同樣都處於小低潮的球隊,
對上了我們分別都找回屬於他們自己的節奏. 甚至今日美國報的運動統計學家 Jeff Sagar
-in 在我們以 13-13 站上大西洋組龍頭的時候, 評比我們的賽程是全 NBA 29支球隊中最
為輕鬆的, well, 或許吧, 傷兵問題使得我們戰力一直處於不穩定狀態, 像11/14 對上馬刺
隊以 Iverson 精采的表現 100:96 擊敗對手, 隔天在延長賽就輸給騎士, 更糟的是, 第二
次對上騎士更是成了人家終止客場34連敗的祭品, 對上西區球隊是難看的 3-8 的成績(不
過其中兩場是馬刺貢獻 :P). 但傷兵問題不能一直拿來當作我們輸球的理由(不過好像沒比
這個更嚴重的問題了, 一場比賽能上場的只有"七六人", 又不是亞東..||), 全隊缺乏有效
率的進攻反而是我們要正視的, "難得" Iverson 去找 DNP 聊聊天, 其他球員總算是有更
多的持球進攻機會, 不過大狗沒打出往年的穩定演出, 麥大爺重回得分後衛位置卻是讓人
驚艷, 只可惜受傷了. 備受期待的鮭魚弟 Salmons 表現似乎被 Korver 給強壓過去, 不過
音標男的出頭倒是讓人覺得很開心哪 :P 很少看到來到費城的新人這麼敢投, 大概跟換了
教練有關吧. 其實我比較希望 Korver 能成為像 Chapman 那種瘋狂射手的類型 :P
