PHILADELPHIA — Andre Iguodala opens his fourth season with the Philadelphia
76ers tonight at Toronto, but the Lanphier High School graduate has more than
the Raptors on his mind.
The Sixers are trying to sign Iguodala to a contract extension before today’
s deadline in the NBA players’ collective bargaining agreement. If the sides
fail to reach agreement on an extension by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, Iguodala
will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, leaving the
Sixers with the right of first refusal should he agree to an offer sheet with
another team.
“This is where I want to be,” said Iguodala, who has a $2.8 million
contract for this season. “If (an extension) happens, then great. If it doesn
’t, I’ve still got to go out and play ball.”
The Philadelphia Daily News reported that Iguodala’s agent, Rob Pelinka,
flew from California over the weekend to meet with Sixers president and
general manager Billy King. Pelinka, a former University of Michigan
basketball player, is also Kobe Bryant’s agent.
Pelinka told the Daily News that the two sides were “using our best efforts
to find a compromise position on extending Andre’s contract with the Sixers
before the Oct. 31 deadline.’’

這個 blogger 提出了三個可能性
簡單寫一下。
1. 七六人想要維持下一個夏天薪資結構的機動性
2. Comcast (七六人的擁有者 & 轉撥權的 holder) 想要退出 NBA
不想因為 Iguodala 的 extention 毀了賣像。
3. 又不急，反正明年夏天還可以再來一次，怕三小。
ps. 這邊的再來一次是開 QO 之後成為 RFA 跟其他隊伍最高得標價。
我覺得第三個蠻扯的，
一定會被敲竹槓Q_Q
