七六人的球季結束到現在，還沒有人出面寫回顧...啊人咧？
無論如何，大部分人的共識似乎是可以把Cheeks和老王一併火掉，
因為一個打不出該有戰力，一個亂交易戰力，最好是都逐出費城。

該不該再給Cheeks一點時間？mvn.com的部落格寫手Jon看了一篇
費城詢問報對Mo的專訪之後，認為「他比我們想像中的更聰明些」。



Cheeks Chats
齊克斯怎麼說？

Mo Cheeks sat down for a Q&A with Joe Juliano of the Philadelphia
Inquirer after the season.  His responses lead me to believe that
Cheeks is much smarter than we give him credit for.  His strengths
clearly are in maintaining a positive attitude and handling different
personalities, but it’s refreshing to see that he has a good grasp
of the big picture moving forward.  There’s still plenty of work to
do, and he realizes that as much as anyone.  Here are some excerpts
of the interview:

  Mo其實對球隊的大方向很有概念，這倒是令人振奮的消息。還有很多該做的，
  這點他跟大家一樣清楚。


   Q (Joe Juliano): Was there a specific turnaround game that you
felt like, hey, we’re finally doing things the right way? Was it the
Cleveland game (a 118-115 double overtime win in Cleveland on Jan.
24)?

  問：有沒有特定哪一場比賽讓你覺得，嘿，我們終於弄清楚怎樣打才對了？
      是對克里夫蘭那場（118-115客場二度延長賽勝出，1/24）嗎？


   A (Mo Cheeks): That was the game because Andre Iguodala was going
against LeBron James, and he made play after play after play. We were
down in that game, and it was really amazing when we tied the game
up. I had put Andre on one side of the floor, and he readjusted and
came to the ball and made a three. We just kind of chipped away and
chipped away and stayed together. Cleveland had been playing pretty
good basketball at the time. That was the game where we started to
feel our way, where we started putting ourselves together and give
ourselves a chance.

  答：就是那場，因為小AI的對手是LBJ，但他還是一球一球的打進去了。那場
      我們原本落後，後來把比分追平的時候，感覺真的很棒。我本來把Andre
      安排在半場的一邊，然後他自己找到機會拿球，三分球命中。我們就是
      大家合力一分兩分的慢慢追上來。克里夫蘭那一段球季的表現很不錯。
      就在這場比賽，我們找到了自己的方向，開始團隊合作、給自己創造贏
      球的機會。


   Q (Joe Juliano): If things had turned out the way you had planned
in training camp, with Iverson and with Webber, do you think you
would have had a chance to see the young kids develop?

  問：如果季前訓練營的時候，Iverson跟Webber的狀況都按照你的計畫融入團
      隊，你覺得隊上年輕一輩的球員還有機會成長嗎？


   A (Mo Cheeks): I don’t think so. I always keep pointing to Andre
Iguodala. I don’t think we would have seen his versatility as a
player if everything had stayed the same. He was so used to - and I
was trying to break him out of it - someone else catching the ball
and him running to the corner. He would go to the corner and stand
there. Allen Iverson was such a great player, so he had the ball in
his hands. So it’s not his fault, it’s just that Andre started
growing later on. He started shooting the ball, rebounding the ball,
passing the ball. He made some of the most incredible passes we’ve
seen in a long time. But his ability to flourish happened when
everything else happened.

  答：我覺得沒有。我一直拿小AI當例子。如果球隊沒有做出改變，我不覺得
      我們還能看到他全方位的發展。他很習慣--我一直試著打破這個習慣--
      別人接球，然後自己跑到角落等球。他都跑到角落，定在那邊。Allen
      Iverson實在是太厲害的球員，也因此球在他手裡。所以不是他的錯，
      只是Andre後來才慢慢成熟起來。他開始投籃、開始抓籃板、開始傳球。
      他傳出一些我們已經很久沒看過的精彩好球。但就是其他變化發生的時
      候，他才開始發光發熱。



小綠的困境

For our resident Depressed Fan, who is enjoying the first Yankees win
in 8 games today, here is Cheeks response when asked about Willie
Green:

   被問到小綠表現如何，齊克斯這麼回答：


    A (Mo Cheeks): Willie Green could be so good. He’s a tireless
worker. He’s come back from a year-long knee injury and I think next
year he’ll be a little better. He’s got to drive the basketball. He
can drive the basketball as well as anybody. He’s got to be able to
do that a little bit more.

   答：Willie Good可以是一個很棒的球員。他是不斷在努力的。他已經從一
       整年的膝傷中恢復了，我想他明年會打的更好。他一定要做更多切入。
       他帶球切入的能力不比任何人差。這點他一定要做的更好。

For talent and ability, Willie Green gets a check.  For basketball
IQ, he’s got some learning to do.  I think Cheeks is playing to Green
’s strengths with that answer.  As a coach, you have to try to get
the most out of your players, so you can’t fault him for that.
 However, what Green REALLY needs to work on is looking for his
teammates more and playing within the team concept.  Most of his
assertiveness does not get his teammates involved.  Now that he’s
learned how to generate his own offense, I’d like to see him
generate more offense for the others.  He finished the season with
the 37 point performance, but he also committed 7 turnovers in that
game to only 1 assist.

   天賦和能力這一項，小綠獲得一個勾勾。籃球智商呢，他還有得學。我想齊
   克斯這樣回答是針對小綠的長處所在。身為教練，你必須要讓隊員的能力發
   揮到最大，所以你不能怪Mo。不過，小綠真真正正需要加強的，是替隊友製
   造機會，還有融入團隊的戰術。他表現積極的時候，通常跟隊友無關。既然
   他已經能替自己創造進攻機會，我希望他也能幫別人創造機會。例行賽最後
   一場，他拿了三十七分，但同時也失誤七次之多，相對的只有一次助攻。


In the last 3 games of the season, Green averaged 29 points per game.
 The best game was the first of the 3 on April 15th.  He scored 26
points with 7 assists and 5 rebounds to 3 turnovers.  That game was
followed up with 24 points, 3 assists, and 3 turnovers against the
Cavaliers.  The season-ending game was against Toronto.

   例行賽最後三場，小綠每場平均得分高達二十九分，其中第一場的表現最好
   ，繳出26分、7助攻、5籃板、3失誤。


Green’s performance once the Sixers were out of the playoffs only
proved that the accusations of him being a garbage-time player are
not without merit.  His previous career-high in points was the 30 he
put up against Milwaukee on January 12 and they were playing without
Michael Redd, Mo Williams, Charlie Villaneuva, and Bobby Simmons.
 Green comes up small in big games and big in small games.  He has to
develop more poise to match the tireless work ethic and talent Coach
Cheeks speaks of.

   七六人跌出季後賽行列後，小綠的表現只證明了，那些說他是垃圾時間小霸
   王的人並不是隨便亂講。他之前的生涯最高得分場次出現在一月十二號，面
   對公鹿拿下三十分，不過對方缺賽球員包括Michael Redd、Mo Williams、
   Charlie Villaneuva和Bobby Simmons（換言之，死光光）。小綠是大比賽
   一條蟲、小比賽一條龍。齊克斯說他有努力不懈的職業道德和才能，他最好
   培養出一樣好的冷靜頭腦。

        看到 hanway 翻譯的這篇好文，趁機向大家道歉 XD

        季初時猛誇 Willie Green 的我，不僅看到 Green 本季表現傻眼，

        更重要的是季初被我認為大有可為的 Randolph 幾乎是整季報銷。

        由於這一季沒有看比賽的緣故，比較沒立場評論 Sixers 的比賽內容，

        看到老大離隊後反而球隊朝向正面發展，心中其實是有很多複雜的情愫。


        或許對很多 AI 的球迷來說， Sixers 真的是砍掉重練吧！雖然我之前力挺

        的 Cheeks 教練，在球隊戰績漸漸復甦後比較沒有在板上被圍剿，不過想想

        跟 AI 的支持者離開 Sixers 板有關 ( 您說還要加上 C-Webb 的球迷，是吧？)


        但是這支球隊朝向年輕化的方針，這次總算是真正確立下來。手中的首輪籤

        有機會讓 Sixers 在 2010 年之後重新成為東區勁旅 (當然沒有所謂的 time

        table 啦，一定是越快越好阿！) 看看 Bulls，少了籃球之神之後也漸漸走出

        自己的重建之路，今年已經磨成另一對銳不可擋的牛角 (哈，正在看重播的

        板友不要吐我槽，好歹人家已經打到我們許久未曾踏上的季後賽第二輪阿)

        Sixers 的年輕球員相信一定是更有希望的啦！


        希望，對啦，我季初也是這樣講的，:P。
