Acquired: Signed as a free agent by the Sixers on August 12, 2005.
Career Highlights: Hunter is only 24 years old, and is already entering his
6th NBA season in the NBA in 2006-07. For his career he has appeared in 290
career games (87 starts) averaging 4.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.10 blocks
in 14.2 minutes per game.

In 2005-06 Hunter played in 69 games (35 starts) for the Sixers. In 19
minutes per game, he averaged career highs with 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds
per game. He shot an amazing 60.1% from the field over the season. He really
started to come into his own at the end of the season by averaging 12.7
points and 5.8 rebounds over the last six games of the year.

Season Outlook: Steven Hunter is one of the few 7-footers in the NBA and has
the ability to play both the center and power forward positions. Specializing
in defense, Hunter is always near the top of the league in blocks per 48
minutes. He showed near the end of the 2005-06 campaign that he can
successfully play along side Samuel Dalembert to form one of the tallest
front courts in the NBA.

Front Office Opinion*: "Hunter is another long, athletic 7-footer for the
team. He has length and leaping ability to bother most shot attempts. He also
possesses very good straight line speed running the floor for easy transition
baskets. Hunter can provide some low post offense when entering the game with
a good jump-hook and an improved "drop-step" too. Expect improved consistency
in his play on the floor while in the game this season. Hunter has worked
hard over the summer to earn more playing time this upcoming season."
