After loss, Sixers in united state?

ATLANTA - The 76ers must be careful that this was only a game they lost. They
must make certain this wasn't a loss that created a fissure in the foundation.

111-108 decision to the Hawks last night, they must hurry up and shut off that

This isn't the story line anyone expected after Allen Iverson torched the Hawks
for 53 points, his 10th career performance of at least 50. But it is one the
Sixers will have to live with until they reconvene for practice Monday at

The first evidence that something beyond losing was wrong came from John
Salmons, who, in his fourth season, had never uttered anything even remotely

Hawks' Josh Smith. He also had taken the ball hard to the basket and drawn a
foul, making one of two free throws. By comparison, Iverson got one shot in the
Sixers' final six possessions.

"That's just the type of person Mo is, but this team... this team ain't really

That might well be, but Iverson and Chris Webber - the primary voices in the
locker room - both insisted they were unaware of any such developments.

We're one of the highest-scoring teams in the league, if not the highest. Our

They couldn't stop Joe Johnson (24 points), Zaza Pachulia (career-high 23) and
Al Harrington (22). At times, they couldn't stop Salim Stoudamire (13) or
Tyronn Lue (11). They couldn't stop the Hawks, who came in at 6-18, from
shooting 54 percent.

be able to take that challenge."
