ATLANTA - Allen Iverson went on a pre-holiday scoring binge, but for the
Sixers the effort felt as hollow as seeing coal in the stocking on Christmas
morning.

Despite Iverson's 53 points, the 76ers lost to the Atlanta Hawks, 111-108,
tonight at Philips Arena.

of bounds to the Hawks. There were 2.4 seconds left.

Iguodala's long pass to secure the win.

The Hawks got back into the game with an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter that
left them leading by 96-91. Suddenly, they were taking the ball to the hole

In the first quarter, the Sixers couldn't stop Pachulia, who signed as a free

Patrick in Elizabeth, N.J. Harrington scored 16 first-half points in 16 minutes
and was too quick for the Sixers, specifically Webber. He shot 7 for 13 and hit
2 of 4 three-pointers.

starting the season 2-16, the Hawks entered the night having won four of their
last six games.

"They have had some impressive wins," Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks said before

The Sixers assumed immediate control in the third quarter, scoring the first

in the first half.

quarter, Iverson had 38 points and the Sixers led, 84-76, after outscoring the
