Sixers have chance to prove they belong

The Sixers play four games in the next six days, four games that will likely
tell us more about them than their first 20 combined: Orlando Monday night,
Chicago Wednesday night, Miami Friday night and Atlanta Saturday night – the
first three of those at home.

接下來的六天四戰，會比本季目前為止的前20場更具指標意義。

Are they the team their 14-6 start might indicate? Can they stand toe to toe
with some of the Eastern Conference’s big boys? They’d like to know
themselves.
Andre Iguodala said after Saturday’s victory over Detroit that this stretch
will enable him and his teammates to “just to see where we’re at.”

七六人有戰績顯示的十四勝六敗這麼優異嗎？

Right now. But what will be the perception by week’s end? Miami and Chicago
are clearly the East’s two best teams. And while the Sixers have beaten the
Bulls two straight times, the Heat have an eight-game regular-season winning
streak against Philadelphia, including a 113-92 verdict on Jan. 21. Miami
also won a first-round playoff series over the Sixers in five games last year.

Orlando has taken 11 of its last 12 regular-season meetings from the Sixers,
but is amid a horrid stretch. The Magic lost to Boston last Monday, 87-56.
(Yes, they scored all of 56 points.) And while they beat Indiana Tuesday,
they squandered a 27-point lead in losing again to the Celtics Thursday, then
were drubbed by New Orleans Friday and Indiana Sunday. And after that loss to
the Hornets – a lovely 93-67 decision – Dwight Howard questioned his
teammates’ heart. (And never mind that Howard himself seems to have one foot
out the door.)

過去十二場對魔術隊的例行賽，七六人也輸了十一場，好在贏的那場是大勝。

The Sixers can further hasten the Magic’s demise, and jumpstart their week,
with a victory Monday. It doesn’t figure to be easy; they have struggled to
match up with Orlando in the past, and it remains uncertain as to whether
center Spencer Hawes will return after missing the last seven games with a
strained Achilles.

七六人有機會繼續在傷口上灑鹽，然後讓這艱困的一周有個好的開始。
但這不容易喔，魔術一向很難打，
而且先發中鋒 Spencer Hawes 已經缺賽七場、還不確定是否能出賽。


Whatever the case, this much seems clear: The Sixers’ season starts now.
