Joel Embiid: Sixers owe the Timberwolves for blowout loss

CAMDEN — Joel Embiid remembers Nov. 17 all too well.

On that night, the Timberwolves steamrolled the 76ers 110-86
on national television, with Minnesota's Andrew Wiggins (35
points, 10 rebounds) and Karl-Anthony Towns (25 points, 10
boards) having big outings.

With the 8-24 Sixers hosting the 11-23 Wolves on Tuesday
evening, Embiid, who had 10 points and 10 rebounds in the
first meeting, plans on things being different this time.


Embiid清楚記得十一月七號那天晚上在雙子城發生的那些事情。
那天是該死的全國轉播，他大學的換帖兄弟Andrew Wiggins跟他潛力
無限的隊友Karl-Anthony Towns合拿了60分讓Embiid覺得森77。

今天晚上（美國時間）加起來不到二十勝的兩隊再次狹路相逢，五十
步笑百步的魯蛇德比將移駕費城上演。但上次「僅」拿下十分十籃板
表現的Embiid決心讓結局不一樣。


"I think it's payback time," said Embiid after Monday's
practice at the team's training facility. "Since that game
ended, I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I'm excited to go
up against them again."

"Personally, you just can't wait to play them again," Sixers
coach Brett Brown said. "Our guys can't wait to play them
again. That was zero reflection of who we are."


Embiid在週一練球後接受採訪時表示：
我想反攻的號角已經響起，讓他們付出代價的時候到了。從那天晚上
我們在全國轉撥出糗後我就一直無法停止回想這件事情，所以現在有
機會當面討回來，我好興奮R～～～

教練BB也表示：
個人基本上也等不及再遇到灰狼一次了，因為我的球員們每個都磨刀
霍霍，因為大家都認為上次比賽時的品質並不是球隊真正的實力展現。

While Brown said he's probably not going to use big men Embiid
and Jahlil Okafor together as much as he did during the recent
six-game stretch in which they started and generally weren't
effective, he didn't rule out starting them Tuesday.

Brown did say the Sixers "want to see Nerlens and Joel a
little bit."

Embiid and Noel would like to see it, too.

Brown還表示他可能不會再讓Embiid跟Okafor一起上這麼久的時間，
畢竟前六場比賽兩個人一起上場時效率實在差強人意。即便他們可能
還是會聯袂先發，但他不會繼續固執於此。

BB還表示他會讓N2跟Embiid多一點互相搭配的時間，而看起來JoJo跟
N2對此也喜聞樂見。


"I think we can be really good," Embiid said. "I'm excited to
see it, especially defensively. Offensively, we'll figure it
out."

"Defensively, it's obviously going to be to our advantage,"
said Noel, who missed the season's first 23 games with left
knee surgery. "Maybe playing a big lineup (vs. Minnesota) is
beneficial. Joel's a special, special player and a special
person."

Embiid:
我想我們一起上場會很不錯。對於這個改變我相當興奮，尤其防守端
將會非常出色。而我相信我們也可以在進攻端找到互相搭配的方式。

Noel:
很明顯我們兩個一起上場會在防守端得到明顯的優勢，尤其面對像是
灰狼這樣的大陣容對我們來說更加有利。我很喜歡Jojo，他無論作為
一個球員還是作為一個人都相當的特殊。


As for Embiid's 28-minute restriction and being permitted to
play in both games of a back-to-back, it doesn't sound like
either is going away soon.

Brown noted the Sixers' "six back-to-backs in the next 4½
 weeks where Joel won't play" and how "I feel like everybody
should bunker in. (Twenty-eight minutes) seems to be the plan.
It's what we have and what we will try to make work."

而目前球隊對於Embiid的28大限與B2B免戰牌看起來還會持續一段時間。
BB同時也對記者表示未來四周現狀不會被改變，而希望大家也同樣對
此保持耐心。

Embiid, the clear favorite to be named NBA Rookie of the Year,
missed his first two pro seasons due to a pair of right foot
surgeries.

Simmons progressing

Injured rookie Ben Simmons dribbled and shot around a little
following the workout Monday.

While Brown said the plan is to integrate Simmons "more and
more" with the team, he said there's no timetable for Simmons'
NBA debut that "we're comfortable sharing," though he pointed
out Simmons is "moving along just fine."

協助Simmons融入球隊，但目前對於他的回歸仍然沒有時間表。BB並表
示與狀元郎的溝通沒有問題，他也沒有感到被疏離。

"It's still not to the point where he's on the floor
practicing," Brown said. "But nobody should be worried that
his foot's not healing the way we all wished for."

BB:
現在這個時間點仍不宜貿然讓Simmons投入正式訓練。但關於他的傷勢
復原程度並不需要擔心，一切都在掌握當中。

Simmons, the No. 1 overall pick in June's draft, fractured his
right foot in a Sept. 30 training camp scrimmage and underwent
surgery Oct. 4.

狀元在訓練營的時候右腳中了一箭，手術10/4便已成功完成。


Injury updates

Point guard Sergio Rodriguez (sprained left ankle) and big man
Richaun Holmes (concussion protocol) are listed as doubtful
for Tuesday's contest. Shooting guard Gerald Henderson (sore
left hip) is probable.

Sergio的左腳踝扭傷跟Holmes的腦震盪目前是Doubtful, 但屁屁舊傷在
場上復發的Hendo有機會上場。

T.J. McConnell filled in for Rodriguez in Friday's 124-122 win
over the Nuggets to close out a 1-3 holiday road trip,
contributing 17 points (3-for-3 on 3-pointers) and eight
assists.

"Knowing you're going to play that many minutes gives you
confidence, but you never want to see a teammate go down,"
McConnell said.

TJ在Sergio缺陣的時候打了一場很精彩的比賽，幫助球隊在科羅拉多取
得重要的一勝。但TJ表示：能打久一點當然好，對自信的提昇幫助很大。
但我步希望這建立在任何一個隊友傷缺的基礎上。

Quote of note

Brown on Embiid's stellar play: "'He has exceeded my
expectations — at times by a lot. He embraces that next step
on being great with this organization."

BB表示Embiid的表現不斷的超出他的期待，而且希望能夠長久的在費城
跟他繼續合作下去。
