A long day birthday
June 4 .- Hello everybody and my apologies because yesterday I could not send
you the blog. As you could imagine it was a long and complicated day and I
did not have material time to do this. I think it's the first time that fault
in this. Sorry, really. Today I will make a greater effort and try to write a
much longer than usual. I hope not bored you much.
You may ask why so long and so complicated day that not let me nor the time
to do the blog. Normally, took between 30 and 45 minutes to do so, to dictate
it. If I put myself personally to write on the computer it would take much
more. I, as you know, I told everything, I look it, I see how it going on but
is Benito, in the end, it puts on the computer. Today also are Carlos Costa
and Rafa Maymó here "inspecting" the result. Jejejejeje!
The fact is that yesterday was a long day for the match and for my birthday.
At 10 (somewhat late) I waked up and we went at 11 to the club. The same
routine as always to be ready for the match. I ate, yes, in the upstairs
restaurant players with Toni, Carlos, Benito and Rafa. What I eat? White
pasta and a bit of grilled salmon with white rice. The salmon that I am
eating here at Roland Garros, I must say, is pretty good. Very fresh and I
eat it almost every day. The food is not that so very good, but the exception
is that salmon. to getting in the locker room and be ready for the match I
saw something of Djokovic's match and I was waiting to go out to the court.
About the match the media already spoken in their sports pages.
Just say I saw that Nico had a bit inflamed the arm and I imagine that
affected him a bit to play. Ojalá and he has speedy recovery.
Once I finished my match I did the press pretty fast, less than the 30/45
minutes that I used to do. This way I did it before of Djokovic and I could
go to the hotel before. After the press conference we go upstair to the press
bar where they had prepared me a couple of surprises. The tournament had
prepared me a yummy cake. I say this seriously, it was yummy. Also bottles of
champagne to toast with everyone. It is now usual celebrate my birthday at
Roland Garros and that's a good news. It means that I am in the second week
of Roland Garros. If I celebrate it in Manacor means that I'm back at home.
Another surprise was that they gave me a painting, a painting of a French
painter who called Frederique Lorain and what it was said me she was making
the painting for more than two months. The problem now is how I taking it to
home because is big ...we'll seek a solution ...
Also say that I received many messages. Carlos and Benito have passed me many
e-mails' that they have arrived. I could not mention all, one by one, because
I take a long time and soon I have to go to the tournament to train. But I
would like to mention one that it came from Ciriaco, another of Ana, one that
it came from Martinique, from Canada, and many more! Thank you everyone for
all, seriously.
We went to dinner at the usual time and to the restaurant of during the week
as we call it because is closed on weekends. We went from my team my uncle
Toni, Carlos Costa, Rafa Maymó, Benito Perez-Barbadillo, Tuts-which
incidentally is called Jordi Robert-and also Giorgio di Palermo and Fabrizio
Sestini that are working in the ATP. Here I send you photos of the dinner. At
the end turn off the lights of the restaurant and brought me the third cake
of the day. A spectacular tiramisu (although I didn't taste it what I was
told that it was yummy).
Also the day became a bit longer because last night I made the radio program
'El Larguero' with Jose Ramon de la Morena. For some time we had agreed to do
it, and the date it was chosen was yesterday. The truth is I have a very good
time throughout the program. Jose Ramon made me feel very comfortable and at
ease at all times. I thank him and his entire team the effort to catch a
plane and travel to Paris to do so. They were all and they improvised a radio
studio down in a hotel basement that I even knew. We were all of the team. I
do not know if you heard the program. I have a good time and I must say that
in the breaks for ads we talked a lot with Luis Fernandez (football coach),
which was another guest on the program, with Jose Ramon and my uncle Toni,
about football. I love football so we talk about everything. Of the signings
that are taking place, players of before, stories of within what is, in the
end, fun.
