STUTTGART, July 17, 2003
Germany's Rainer Schuettler reached his ninth quarterfinal of the
year on Thursday at the MercedesCup Stuttgart, dismissing Spain's
Alex Corretja 6-4, 6-4. Schuettler gained revenge for his straight-set,
second-round loss to Corretja at this same tournament in 1999.
Schuettler now meets Feliciano Lopez, who came from a set down to
upset No. 10 seed Younes El Aynaoui of Morocco 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Corretja: "I'm disappointed. It was a tough match and Rainer played
well out there. He moved well and really fought hard."
