Conchita Martinez trounced British qualifier Lucie Ahl 6-0
6-2 in the second round of the Qatar Open. Ahl rarely troubled seventh seed
Martinez and dropped her serve three times in the first set as she went down
6-0.
Martinez was serving for the match in the second set when a series of
unforced errors gave Ahl her only break point of the match.
That was the closest Ahl came to ruffling her rival, and Martinez hit her
way out of trouble before converting her first matchpoint.
The Spaniard now faces Lina Krasnoroutskaya, the conquerer of top seed
Monica Seles in the quarter-finals.
