Untested left-hander Feliciano Lopez looms as the wild card in the Australia-Sp
ain Davis Cup final in Melbourne, beginning Friday. Although Lopez (28th) finis
hed more than 20 spots lower than team mates Juan Carlos Ferrero (3rd) and Carl
os Moya (7th) in the ATP Champions Race 2003, his superior results on grass cou
ld see him make his Cup debut on the specially-laid grass court at Melbourne Pa
rk. 

Lopez has reached the last 16 at Wimbledon during the past two years, losing to
 eventual champion Roger Federer this season. An atypical Spaniard, Lopez is a
natural serve and volleyer on grass and says that Wimbledon is his favorite tou
rnament. Spain will announce its singles players at Thursday's draw.
