Spain Sticks with Ferrero & Moya for Davis Cup Final
Spain has resisted the temptation to play its most accomplished grass court pla
yer - but most inexperienced Davis Cup team member - Feliciano Lopez in the Dav
is Cup final against Australia, which begins in Melbourne on Friday. Despite bo
asting a natural serve and volley game and back-to-back round of 16 showings at
Wimbledon during the past two years, Lopez was overlooked for singles duty in
favor of Juan Carlos Ferrero and Carlos Moya.
At today's draw ceremony Aussie No. 2 Lleyton Hewitt was scheduled to play the
opening rubber against Ferrero, with Wimbledon finalist Mark Philippoussis to f
ollow against Moya.
