Spain name unchanged team for Davis Cup semi-final

MADRID, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Spain named an unchanged team on Tuesday for
their Davis Cup semi-final against Argentina to be played in Malaga between
September 19 and 21.
French Open champion Juan Carlos Ferrero will lead the side, with Carlos
Moya taking the other singles berth against the highly rated Argentines.
Alex Corretja and Albert Costa, who were part of the team that won the
Davis Cup in 2000, will renew their partnership in the doubles on their
favoured clay surface.
Spain whitewashed both Croatia and Belgium in previous rounds but according
to one of the team's three coaches Juan Avendano, they will have a much
tougher task against the Argentines.
"It is going to be a very hard and closely fought tie," Avendano told
reporters after the announcement of the team. "It is going to be like
playing a final.
"We have looked carefully at both the singles and doubles and we are
convinced we have selected the best team."
Switzerland play Australia in the other semi-final.
