Reporter: Well, it was the first match for a while on hard courts; was that
a problem today?
Carlos Moya: A little bit. It was a not easy match for me for one.
And last time I played on hard was in Miami. So I knew it was not
going to be easy to play today and I did not feel very comfortable.
And he -- I don't like to play him, either. I think he has a good
game to beat me. Although he hasn't beaten me many times, he has
the game, I think. I knew if I was not playing well, I was going
to lose, as it happened today.
I had some moments where I played very well. Some moments where I
played well. So I'm going to prepare now for next week and
practice a lot on hard court and see if I can get ready for
Cincinnati.
Reporter: Was the rain delay a problem at all?
Carlos Moya: No, I don't think it was a factor. It just happened
at the beginning and I don't think it changed anything at all.
Reporter: What makes him difficult for you? What does he do that ...
Carlos Moya: He hits very flat and here the court is quite fast.
The ball doesn't bounce very high. So it did not help me at all.
And he has a good return, also. And I think that is what makes him
very difficult for me. The balls are coming very flat. And if I
can get high bounces maybe I can control the match better with my
forehand, but today I did not feel my forehand at all and that was
the problem.
