The Spurs will concentrate on their own free agents, but also take a look at several players around the league that have piqued their interest. Their Own Manu Ginobili -- Obviously Ginobili will be the Spurs’ top priority this offseason. With suitors from Denver to Phoenix, the 6-6 swingman will get national attention. When all is said and done, the Argentine sensation will probably end up back in Alamo City securing a long-term deal where he is already comfortable. Bruce Bowen -- It’s unclear whether Bowen elected not to pick up his player option to help the Spurs with cap space or if he really wants to test the market. Bowen’s intangibles are difficult to measure, but valued by the Spurs’ brass. The 33-years-old defensive specialist will most likely ink a 3-year deal with San Antonio and finish out his career in the Silver and Black. Hedo Turkoglu -- After a less than stellar postseason, Turkoglu will test the free agency waters. The 6-10 swingman hit his stride midseason, hitting 53.8% of his 3-pointers in January and 47.9% in March. But as the season wound down and the playoffs arrived, Turkoglu seemed to lose his confidence and his shot. If it’s a long-term deal he’s looking for, Turkoglu may be pressed to look elsewhere. The Others Rafer Alston -- With Alston, San Antonio would get a back-up point guard who can knock down shots from the perimeter. Alston is coming off a solid season in Miami where he averaged 11.6 points, 4.8 assists and 1.96 steals after the All-Star break. He is also a good rebounder for his size and isn’t afraid to shoot. Brent Barry -- A dead-eye shooter who can also pass, Barry will be a hot commodity this summer. If the Spurs lose Ginobili, they will probably take a serious look at Barry. But otherwise, he will be out of San Antonio’s price range. Jon Barry -- The gritty veteran would be a welcome addition on the Spurs’ bench. Obviously not the athlete his brother is, but this Barry would bring mental toughness and a knack for hitting big shots. Kobe Bryant -- When a player the caliber of Kobe becomes available, you have to take a look. The Spurs will make a courtesy call to Bryant’s agent, but not give him the attention that teams like the Suns and Clippers will. Bryant has already expressed his desire to stay with a big market team -- that’s not the Spurs. After flirting with Phoenix, Bryant will remain with the Lakers where he can call all the shots. Brian Cardinal -- Cardinal had a career year last season for the Warriors. He is an energy player who is deceptively skilled. He can do everything from hit threes to crash the defensive glass. Adonal Foyle -- An economical bigman who would provide the Spurs with rebounding and bulk off the bench. Coming off injury, Foyle averaged nearly four boards in 13 mpg last season with Golden State. Fred Hoiberg -- With the Spurs in dire need of a perimeter shooter, Hoiberg’s name will be mentioned. He has a slick stroke from beyond the arc and also is a deadeye from the charity stripe. Stephen Jackson -- After a year with the Hawks, Jackson should be primed to return to San Antonio. Never afraid to shoot, Jack would bring more competitiveness and fire to the Spurs’ backcourt. If his contract demands are reasonable, the Spurs should give him some serious consideration. Damon Jones -- If the Spurs opt to pick up another point guard, Jones is worth a look. Second in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio last season, the 6-3 guard has a balanced, steady game that would be great addition to any roster. Tony Massenburg -- With the future of Kevin Willis uncertain, Massenburg is a player who can step right in and fill the same role. He’s a rugged, hardnosed player who will never be pushed around. Anthony Peeler -- Peeler led the league in three-point percentage last season, connecting on a blistering 48.2% of his attempts. The Spurs could use his shooting touch as Peeler could fulfill a Steve Kerr type role. Wesley Person -- If the Spurs need a veteran who can knock down shots from beyond the arc, Person (41.6% 3FG) is their man. After seeing time with three different teams last season, 33-year-old Person would like to settle somewhere to finish his career. Brian Skinner -- This Baylor product has been one of the most underrated players throughout his NBA tenure. He’s a career 50% shooter from the field and is an above average rebounder and shotblocker. Bob Sura -- The Spurs have had an interest in Sura in past campaigns. After getting off to a slow start with the Pistons, his game blossomed when he joined the Hawks. While in Atlanta, he averaged 14.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.64.174.119
