For thousands of years the Protoss have studied the nature of time and space.

Through their painstaking studies and experiments protoss researchers have
uncovered many of the secrets of the universe.
透過辛苦的學習與實驗，神民研究者們發現許多宇宙的秘密。
Using psionic manufacturing processes, the protoss have learned how to create
a robotic mind whose programming is built into the molecules of an advanced
crystal lattice.
經由心靈加工技術，神民學到如何創造一種程式建入在高等水晶格之分子結構中的人工
意志。
This "crystal computer" is able to manipulate matter and energy with a
precision no ordinary organic mind could comprehend.
這種「水晶電腦」可以用尋常有機體意志無法理解的精準操縱物質與能量。
The protoss use these "phase prisms" in several ways.
神民將相位晶稜用在幾種地方。
Their primary function is to transport protoss forces on the field of battle.
首要功能是將神民軍隊運送到戰場之上。
Both living and inorganic subjects can be transformed into energy, and their
unique energy signature imprinted into the prism's crystal lattice core.
有生命的乃至無機質物件都能被轉換為具有獨特結構的能量，銘刻進稜柱的水晶格中樞

Upon reaching the destination point the operation is reversed and the stored
energy signatures are reconfigured into matter in proximity to the phase
prism.
到達目的地上空，晶稜將逆行這項轉換，將所儲藏能量結構重新化為周遭的物質。

In this configuration phase prisms are often used to temporarily replace
destroyed pylons in a colony or enable the rapid establishment of a forward
base of operations.
所以相位晶稜經常充當殖民地中受摧毀靈能輸送塔的臨時替代品，或作迅速建立前線勤
務基地之用。

「相位棱鏡」(phase prism)的第二個重要功能就是作為一個機動的「心靈矩陣」
(psionic matrix)。啟動時可支援Protoss周圍的建造單位，通常可用來代替暫時損壞的
水晶(pylon)，幫助家園儘速進行重建。
