[新聞] Liquid`TLO 前往韓國

Perhaps you've heard! Perhaps you haven't! Today, Liquid`TLO boarded a plane
at Stockholm's Arlanda airport and is now heading East to return to training
in Korea. It's a move that's been a long time in the works, perhaps you could
say ever since TLO last left Korea with his wrist injury.

His return doesn't mark the end of all of his issues, but it signifies that
TLO is back on track and ready to dominate again. Watch out Korea! Right
before he left, TLPro chatted for a bit with TLO to check his mindset and his
plans for his stay. See below for the full interview!

Thanks for taking time out of your moving preparations to speak with us! You
must be busy!

Liquid`TLO: Haha not really, I will probably pack my luggage the morning I
leave and then I will be in Korea. Not so busy except usual practice.

When exactly will you be touching down in Incheon?

Liquid`TLO: 10:50 local time on the 16th of May! That's only a 13 hour trip!
Pretty neat!


It will have been over a year since you were last in Korea, what is the first
thing you're going to do?

Liquid`TLO: Eat for two hours straight and not feel horrible about it. Not
even feel lazy afterwords because Korean food turns you into a machine.


You left Korea two years ago because of your wrist problems. At the time you
were a reliable GSL qualifier, and known as one of the most creative and
strongest foreigners in the game. How do you view yourself in coming back?

Liquid`TLO: A lot of things have changed of the past two years. Competition
has become harder, my results haven't been as consistent as back then. But
above all I feel much stronger, a lot more experienced and more motivated
than I have been in my life to do something meaningful with it. Going to
Korea is a mission to me, It feels like going back into the past and fixing
the mistakes you made, because now you know better.

How had your previous time in Korea changed you? What did you take away from
your last time there?

Liquid`TLO: Last time when I returned to Korea I was a wreck, I wasn't ready
for the experience. It was the first time in my life that I even lived away
from my parents. So I struggled a lot and you all know the old boring story
of my injury there. In hindsight what I learned the most is, that happiness
should never be tied too much to exterior factors and the most important
lesson I learned in my life so far is that no matter what is going on around
you, if you try, you can achieve balance from within.


Your wrist injury set you back a ton, all through the past year you've been
making a comeback. Is moving to Korea an indication that you're finally back
to normal?

Liquid`TLO: My body still has a lot of issues, I collected a couple of other
things that need physiotherapy. Some of my joints are blocked (probably
something almost every progamer suffers from) but I have the knowledge and
motivation to be able to counteract all of that. It's some work but it'll be
fine.

Is training in Korea more taxing than at home?

Liquid`TLO: More taxing yes, but in a good way. My plan is to cut the day in
3 x 3 hour or even more and shorter segments. Korean practice is ten times
more rewarding, but only if you let it be. I don't want to blindly grind, I
am writing down a weekly schedule for me at the moment hoping to maximize my
learning curve in Korea.

How much ground do you feel you need to cover? What are you trying to catch
up on?

Liquid`TLO: Haha god, probably one of my biggest flaws is that sometimes I
can't tunnel down my view on things. I will try to have specific focus points
for everyday. Just as an example, Monday could be allin day, Tuesday mind
game day... Then I'll try to orient half of my games towards that goal.

This is a tired question, but always relevant. How do you feel Koreans are in
regards to foreigners? Where do they hold the edge?

Liquid`TLO: I look up most to Korean players and 95% of the games I watch are
GSL or GSTL. The level of refinement is much higher, I feel like Koreans work
on their skills more specifically and have greater knowledge of the game..
Often in games of foreigner matches come down to one pick all-in or fight,
while it seems Korean high level matches are much more back and forth. I am
looking forward to get closer to that level of proficiency.

When you arrive, you'll immediately be preparing for the GSL and, perhaps
most excitingly the GSTL. Lets tackle the first one first. What do you think
your chances are to qualify?

Liquid`TLO: I don't care about chances, only the goal itself matters and I
will work my best to achieve it, regardless of probabilities they don't
concern me!

What is your first GSL goal?

Liquid`TLO: Well to qualify of course. But with every goal I will achieve the
bar will just rise higher. That is why I think the ulimate goal is self
improvement detached from specific achievements. They are nice and important
but I see them as stepping stones. I want to be able to win GSL someday
though, and again no one start with probabilities now, I don't care! :D

TLO:當然是取得資格為前提
但我的目標將會不斷提高


Now, perhaps the most exciting thing for your return will be Liquid's
participation in the GSTL? On a scale of pumped to extremely pumped, how
pumped are you?

Liquid`TLO: Haha GSTL is by my favorite thing when it comes to things we have
in Sc2 yet! Maybe my biggest achievement this year was in a teamleague, and
being able to play as a team in person is going to be amazing. I hope my love
for teamleague and the friendship between me and my comrades will guide us to
victory.


You'll be playing with Jinro, Haypro, Zenio, HerO, and TaeJa, with ZeNex,
SlayerS, and NSHoSeo in your group. How do you expect to do?

Liquid`TLO: It'll be tough, having such a small lineup makes it much easier
for our opponents to predict us and keep sniping our players. But every
obstacle can be overcome with hard work and the right mindset, I think we
will be fine. It won't be easy by any means though, obviously.

What can you tell us about how the beard will travel to Korea?

Liquid`TLO: Haha well I will at least get a haircut and trim the beard a bit,
looks are very important in Korea and want to feel as comfortable as possible
there.


What would be the best possible way to earn your final, symbolic beard point?

Liquid`TLO: Win for my team, in GSTL.


Beating MMA, of course...

Who are you most looking forward to catching up with when you get to Korea?

Liquid`TLO: Jon, Chris and Hayder? ^_^ But I am also looking forward to hang
out with many of the Koreans again, Hero Taeja and Zenio of course but also
MC and the rest! I get along well with many of the Koreans, it'll be lots of
fun.
