Every season, I usually get new programs. Last year, I skated to a
different piece of music. This year, I've chosen to skate to "Scheherazade."
It's fun. I have four minutes to play Scheherazade, to become this person
other than Michelle.
It's nice to become a character, to become Scheherazade. This is a person
who can capture everybody's attention. That's what I want on the ice - to
capture the attention of the judges and fans. To be powerful. To take over.
It's nice to become a character besides yourself.
What I always try to do is to just go out there and sort of do something out of
the blue - picking a character that is not Michelle. I get a chance to do that
through skating.
I think everyone struggles to find who they are. It's nice to be able to have
that opportunity to go out on the ice and become this person. To become
Scheherazade.To go out there and express what I feel Scheherazade is feeling.
