氣象局預估今年會有3～5個颱風侵台
中央氣象局表示，每年的7至9月是颱風侵襲台灣的旺季，當然6月份乃至10至
12月份仍有颱風襲台的可能。根據氣象局之預估，今（97）年可能有3～5個
颱風會侵襲台灣，與近5年發生個數相近。
氣象局又指出，今年截至6月底止，北太平洋西部海域已有6個颱風生成，略
多於同期平均值4.5個。因此，預估今年在北太平洋西部海域颱風發生之總數
約為26～29個，與氣候平均值(26.6個)相比，為正常到偏多情形。
根據統計，台灣因颱風豪雨所造成的災害損失，平均1年高達新台幣170億元
以上，約占所有氣象災害損失的85%。氣象局為因應今年颱風季節的到臨，特
別呼籲民眾及有關單位及早做好各項防颱準備工作，並隨時注意颱風消息，
以降低災害損失。
氣象局指出，民眾在取得最新颱風消息的管道方面，除一般平面和電子媒體
之外，尚可撥聽166(國語)或者167(台語、客語)氣象語音服務電話，或上氣
象局全球資訊網站(網址為http：//www.cwb.gov.tw)點閱，或利用電話傳真
回覆系統（020303166）取得。另外，氣象局在颱風警報期間每日8時40分、
10時30分、11時40分、14時40分、16時30分、17時40分、20時40分及23時40
分會定時舉行記者會，並透過網路直播方式，說明最新颱風動態。

1、台灣的梅雨期(5~6月)和颱風季(7~9月)降雨是一年之中主要雨水來源，而颱風
季的降雨尤多，以該局台北、台中、高雄及花蓮4個氣象站為例，7~9月間的平
均降雨量占年總雨量的百分比，依序為高雄55.1%，台中40.3%，花蓮36.3%及
台北35.6%，實際情形如下表。

2、氣象局呼籲的防颱準備工作和注意事項包括：
（1）溝渠的疏浚與清理，橋樑、建物的檢修，招牌、棚架的固定和路樹、庭木的
修剪，山坡開發地做好水土保持措施等。
（2）颱風來襲時，民眾應避免外出，並備妥乾糧、飲水、警急照明設備、乾電池
及收音機等。颱風來襲前，應將屋外易落物取下或釘牢；玻璃門窗要貼上膠
布避免破碎傷人，必要時，應加防風板防護。
（3）颱風來襲前，低窪地區民眾應暫時撤到較高地方以防水患，河川下游應防河
水暴漲，山坡地區之居民應隨時提高警覺，注意周遭環境的變化，做好疏散
避難準備工作，以防範山崩及土石流災害。
Three to Five Typhoons Expected to Hit Taiwan in 2008
Taipei, Taiwan--June 27, 2008- The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) made a
prediction that three to five tropical storms/typhoons would be likely
to invade the Taiwan area this year, which is similar to the number of
the recent five-year average. In general, July, August, and September
are the most vulnerable months to typhoon’s influence for this area,
and June and October to December are the next.
Up till the end of this June, there are six (6) tropical storms/typhoons
formed over the western North Pacific and South China Sea in 2008, a bit
higher than the average number 4.5 of the same period, the CWB pointed
out. The total estimated occurrence for this year is about 26 to 29 over
the western North Pacific, which will be in the normal to above normal
range compared with the 26.6 climate average.
According to the statistics, the average annual loss induced by typhoon
is about NTD 17 billion in Taiwan, up to 85% of all the meteorological
damage, the CWB reminded the public to make full preparations for the
coming typhoon season and pay more attention to the Bureau's up-to-date
weather information.
The CWB stressed that, to acquire its latest typhoon news/warnings, there
are multi ways available currently, besides the radio and TV broadcasts
and newspapers, such as the Weather forecast inquiry system by dialing
166 (Mandarin) or 167 (local dialects and English), the CWB web site (
http://www.cwb.gov.tw), or the CWB Fax On Demand system at 020303166 (
Mandarin only). Additional choice is viewing the broadcast program at
its website for the updated report of the most recent typhoon movement
at 08:40, 10:30, 11:40, 14:40, 16:30, 17:40, 20:40, and 23:40 local time
during typhoon warning period.
