標題: [情報] 男子職網年度獎項 洛迪克年度最佳球員

（中央社記者吳協昌台北二十五日綜合報導）國際男子職業網球總會（ＡＴＰ）今天公布
二００三年個人獎項，美國洛迪克拿下年度最佳球員獎，而洛迪克也以二十一歲又兩個月
之齡，成為史上最年輕的年度最佳球員獎得主。
洛迪克在去年贏得六座冠軍盃，其中包括大滿貫賽中的美國公開賽，並在夏天連
續拿下蒙特婁名人賽與辛辛那提名人賽金盃，在年終的ＡＴＰ冠軍積分榜中也高居第一。
在得知獲選為年度最佳球員之後，洛迪克也成為史上第六名贏得這項頭銜的美國
球員；洛迪克表示，這是很大的成就，他也對於能夠獲得這項肯定而感到驕傲，過去曾經
有許多優秀的球員贏此獎，能加入這些球員的行列，非常難得。
而來自美國加州的雙胞胎組合布萊恩兄弟，則拿下年度最佳雙打組合，布萊恩兄
弟去年八度打進決賽，贏得五座冠軍盃，包括在法國贏得生涯第一座大滿貫金盃，以及辛
辛那提與休士頓兩座名人賽冠軍，而布萊恩兄弟也是史上第一對在年終ＡＴＰ雙打冠軍積分
榜上排名第一的兄弟檔。
去年排名從三十三名一路爬升到第六名的德國好手舒特勒，則拿下最佳進步獎；
最佳新人是來自西班牙的十七歲好手納達爾，而澳洲菲利浦西斯則獲得年度最佳東山再起
獎。
人氣王是瑞士球王費德勒，巴西庫爾坦則拿下艾許人道獎，泰國名將史里查方則
贏得象徵最具運動精神球員的艾柏格獎。

The Bryan twins became the first brothers to finish No. 1 in the ATP Doubles

Most Improved Player
Rainer Schuettler
Rainer Schuettler improved his year-end ranking for an ATP-best ninth
consecutive season, jumping from No. 33 to No. 6 in the INDESIT ATP Entry
Ranking. He won titles in Tokyo and Lyon and reached the Australian Open final,
finishing with 71 match wins on the season.
Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award
Paradorn Srichaphan
For the second consecutive year, Thailand‘s Paradorn Srichaphan was
acknowledged by his peers for his outstanding sportsmanship. Srichaphan
combined fairness with on-court success, becoming the first Asian-born player
in history to reach the Top 10 of the INDESIT ATP Entry Ranking.
Newcomer
Rafael Nadal
Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who turned 17 last June, finished his first full ATP
season inside the Top 50 with a 14-11 match record. He became the youngest
player since Michael Chang in 1988 to finish inside the Top 100. He claimed
wins over Roland Garros champion Albert Costa and his mentor Carlos Moya.
Comeback Player
Mark Philippoussis
Mark Philippoussis surged to his first year-end Top 10 finish in 2003 after
suffering a serious knee injury at the 2002 US Open, which ended his season. In
2003 Philippoussis reached the Wimbledon final and won his 10th career title in
Shanghai.

Roger Federer
INDESIT ATP 2004 Race leader Roger Federer clinched the ATPtennis.com Fans’
Favorite Award after finishing narrowly ahead of three-time Roland Garros
champion Gustavo Kuerten. More than 19,700 fans voted in the poll. Federer
attracted 3,372 votes, just 110 more than Kuerten (3,262). Andre Agassi (2,595)
, Andy Roddick (2,143) and Guillermo Coria (1,801) rounded out the Fans’
Top 5.Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Gustavo Kuerten
Many underprivileged children are among 8,500 needy people to have benefited
from the Instituto Guga Kuerten. Sixty-eight institutions have been helped by
the charity program, working in different areas such as education and
integration through sports activities.
Ron Bookman Media Excellence
John Parsons
Veteran British journalist John Parsons received the Ron Bookman Media
Excellence Award for his life-long service to the sport. Parsons has covered
tennis for more than 40 years for the Oxford Mail, the Daily Mail and the Daily
Telegraph. Parsons began his tennis journalism career at Wimbledon in 1960.

The NASDAQ-100 Open in Miami won the ATP Masters Series Tournament of the Year
for the second consecutive year.
International Series Gold
Dubai
The Dubai Tennis Championships, won by Roger Federer in 2003 and 2004, was
named International Series Gold Tournament of the Year. The event also won the
International Series Tournament of the Year Award in 1998.
International Series
Houston & Bastad
Houston and Bastad were named joint winners of the International Series
Tournament of the Year Award. Bastad also won the title in 2002.
