NEW YORK (AP) -- Two-time U.S. Open champion Patrick Rafter was taken by the Philadelphia Freedoms with the first pick in the World Team Tennis marquee draft Wednesday.
Reigning U.S. Open champion Andy Roddick was chosen No. 2 by the St. Louis Aces, followed by Martina Navratilova to the New York Buzz.
Other draft picks included Anna Kournikova (Kansas City Explorers), Monica Seles (New York Sportimes) and Andre Agassi (Sacramento Capitals).
Rafter hasn't played an official singles match since December 2001, although he did enter a doubles tournament in Australia in January. He won the 1997-98 U.S. Opens.
