Henman delighted with seeding
Tim Henman has admitted to being "pleasantly surprised" after being
seeded 10th for the Wimbledon championships which begin on Monday.
Henman is currently ranked 29th in the world.
But, having previously reached four Wimbledon semi-finals, his grass
court pedigree has been taken into account by the All England Club's
championship committee.
And he will find out just how much his seeding has helped him when the
draw is made on Tuesday morning.
"I'm pleasantly surprised to have been moved up as high as I have been
considering my ranking is currently 29," Henman told his personal website.

"But at the end of the day, if you're going to win a Grand Slam you have
to win seven matches in a row and irrespective of who you play in those
seven matches you know it will be extremely tough.
"Although it's great to be seeded, I've still got to play well when I
get on court and it's extremely tough to win a grand slam, especially
Wimbledon, the biggest of them all.
"However, my record on grass is good so I know if I can play anywhere
near my best I've got an excellent chance of beating anyone."
Defending champion Lleyton Hewitt is the number one seed, despite losing
his Stella Artois Championship title last week.
Current world number one Andre Agassi is seeded second with French Open
champion Juan Carlos Ferrero third and Switzerland's Roger Federer,
winner of a grass court title in Germany at the weekend, fourth.
American Andy Roddick, who took Hewitt's crown at Queen's Club, is fifth
seed with last year's surprise finalist, Argentina's David Nalbandian,
seeded sixth.
British number two Greg Rusedski was too far down the world rankings to
be seeded after his injury problems restricted him to just seven matches
so far this season.
In the women's singles, the top 10 in the world rankings have been named
as the top 10 seeds, with defending champion and world number one Serena
Williams the top seed.
Belgium's Kim Clijsters is seeded second with French Open champion Justin
Henin-Hardenne number three and Venus Williams at four.
