Berlin retains German Open in 2004

BERLIN, Oct 7 (Reuters) - The German Open, whose future in Berlin was under threat, will again take place in the German capital next year even though it has yet to find a new sponsor.
The $1.24 million claycourt event, this year won by Belgian Justine Henin-Hardenne, will take place from May 3 to 9 in 2004, the German tennis federation (DTB) said.
The main sponsor pulled out earlier this year but the DTB said it was confident a replacement would be found.
The organisers had considered moving the event, which registered a loss this year, to Hamburg.
