Moya Makes Houston
Carlos Moya is the seventh player to qualify for the season-ending Tennis Masters Cup, Nov. 8-16, at the Westside Tennis Club in Houston. Moya clinched his place in the Tennis Masters Cup on Friday as a result of No. 10 Sebastien Grosjean losing his quarterfinal match in St. Petersburg, Russia. It will be the Spaniard's fourth appearance in the year-end championship and he has reached the semifinals or better in his previous three showings, including a runner-up in 1998 (l. to Alex Corretja).
"I'm very happy to play in Houston and this was my goal at the beginning of the year to qualify for the Tennis Masters Cup," Moya said. The last spot and alternate position will be decided next week at the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris.
