September 24, 2003
LEIPZIG, Germany (AFP) - Tennis legend Martina Navratilova is determined to crown her career with an Olympic Games gold medal.
"It was 50-50 over whether or not I would play next year," said the American who is playing in the doubles at the WTA tournament here.
"But I am certainly considering starting the Games in Athens because I have never played in the Olympics."
The 46-year-old Navratilova has won 18 Grand Slam singles titles in her career as well as 31 in doubles and nine in mixed doubles.
