The 2000 US Open champion is a certain starter at the $1 million Kremlin Cup according to tournament chairman Shamil Tarpishchev. "Marat was scheduled to play in Shanghai this week but he had some lingering problems with his wrist, so he delayed his comeback until next week," Tarpishchev said. "But he has been training since last week so he definitely will be playing here in Moscow." Safin first injured his wrist in January and withdrew from his scheduled third-round meeting with Rainer Schuettler at the Australian Open. He injured his ankle before April's Davis Cup Tie against Argentina and played a limited schedule through to the Mercedes-Benz Cup in Los Angeles in late July, when he retired after eight games of his first-round match against Prakash Amritraj. He has not played since. Safin has a 12-7 record on the season. In 2002 he went 56-26 and in 2000 he went 73-27. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.62.37.49
