Carlos Moya played a superb match to beat Mark Philippoussis 64 64 46 76(4) and
level the tie at 1-1 after a thrilling first day's play.
Moya outserved Philippoussis and gave a controlled display of attacking all-cou
rt tennis, showing grass court skills he has rarely demonstrated in the past, t
o win in 3 hours 14 minutes.
The stage is set for the doubles rubber tomorrow, which will see Wayne Arthurs
and Todd Woodbridge taking on Alex Corretja and Feliciano Lopez. With the doubl
es rubber often a deciding factor, the final will remain live until Sunday.
