The entry field for the qualifying rounds of the 32nd ABN AMRO World Tennis
Tournament includes several quality players, including Olivier Rochus, who
currently ranks 39th in the word. The Belgian, who heads the list of seeds,
has so far enjoyed an excellent season, reaching the semi-finals in Adelaide
and the final in Auckland. He also made a memorable impressionat the Australia
Open, losing to tournament winner Marat Safin in the fourth round, following a
hard-fought match that went to four sets. Other top-100 players to participate
in the qualification tournament include Ivo Karlovic (Cro), Gilles Muller (LUX
Bohdan Ulihrach (Cze) and Dutchman Peter Wessels. Dennis van Scheppingen and
Steven Korteling will also contest a place in the main tournament. Korteling
replacesJesse Huta Galung, who sustained a wrist injury. Both he and Karan
Rostogi, the highly talented Indian player, were given a wildcard by Tournament
Director Richard Krajicek, who has one more wildcard to award.

on both days.
