小辛本季玩完了... Hingis done for year; ranking falls out of top 10 October 11, 2002 ZURICH, Switzerland (AP) -- Martina Hingis pulled out of all tournaments for the rest of 2002 Friday, a day after another early loss pushed her out the top 10 for the first time in six years. ``At the moment I am not capable of reaching the level that I expect of myself, and I apologize to the public and my sponsors,'' Hingis said. Earlier Friday, she pulled out of the Swisscom Challenge, her hometown tournament. Play starts Monday. Hingis won the event in 2000. Her absence means Iva Majoli will move into the main draw. Hingis, formerly ranked No. 1 and a winner of five Grand Slam tournaments, said she returned to action too soon after an operation on her ankle in May. Since getting back on court, she has been ``in a downward spiral,'' Hingis said. ``In order to catch up, I had to train up to five hours a day. So I neglected the therapy I needed after the operation,'' she said. She will skip events in Linz, Austria, and Los Angeles. Hingis said it was too early to say whether she would go to the Australian Open in January. Hingis lost 6-3, 6-1 loss to Elena Dementieva on Thursday in the second round of the Porsche Grand Prix at Filderstadt, Germany. That result means Hingis will drop out of the WTA Tour's top 10 for the first time since the week of Sept. 30, 1996. She entered this week ranked 10th. -- 最近推薦 電影--美麗時光 藍色大門 音樂--Parva/22 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 203.203.35.95
